  1. Yes, that's correct, so is everyone saying that these are the dreaded "Frankenheresys", and I'm only gonna get substandard sound from them in their current state? I don't understand the polarity issue with the mids and tweeter, or the purpose of the cap across woofer. Are you guys saying that I gotta get k-55 mids and k-76 tweeters off e-bay, then ditch the cap, and reconfigure to e xover? I thought the k22 was the only woofer for heresy.
  2. My heresys have the e2 xover with k52 mids. I like the way it sounds most of the time, but there are times when I wish they had a little more body or shall we say, "warmth" in the mids. I have an SVS 20-39 sub and my source is either an NAD C542 CD player, or an old NIKKO NT-700 tuner. Amplifier is NAD C320bee. I also sometimes run them with Trends TA 10.1. In an earlier post I have asked about the purpose of the 33 uf cap across woofer, and got no replies. I realize that these speakers were not designed as stand-alone units, but as loudspeakers that were to be used in conjunction with the larger Heritage speaker. I just wish there was a way to coax more body out of the lower mids. I don't quite understand sealed designs, especially this one, with an enclosure that is too small for a 12" woofer, and the reasoning behind reversing polarity of the mid, and tweeter. This speaker is extremely hard to integrate with a sub! I'm sure that at least one heresy owner can concur with me! Come on guys, what are my options, besides moving to Cornwalls, because I don't have the room for them. Help!!![:'(]
  3. I was wondering what the exact purpose of the cap across the woofer terminals, and the reversed polarity of the k-52 squawker in my heresys. It is of course an e2 xover.
  4. Can someone tell me the impedance of the woofer in the original Heresy loudspeaker?
  5. Thanks for the advice. I've heard that Layne Audio offers direct replacement for woofers for $80 each. As for the mids and tweeters, you are absolutely right. I know that they will be expensive, so perhaps I will just try and replace the diaphragms. I currently own the RB 5II, and after living with them for several years, like many have become a klipsch fan for life. I know how I treat my speakers, but I don't know how someone else did. I also know that after falling in love with a klipsch 2 way, that I'm positive that the heritage line of three ways are the best speakers out there. Ever since I was a teenager, and played "Trees", by Rush on a set of K-horns in a hi fi shop. I knew I'd heard the best!.............Maybe someday
  6. Im currently bidding on a pair of early Heresy, the model with the drivers mounted from the back of the front baffle. Rather than trust the integrity of the drivers, I'd like to replace them with new ones. Are there new drivers available that will work with the original xover, and just drop in?
  7. I know that I've come to the right place to ask this question. I firmly believe, unlike the venerable reviewers at Stereophile, that the heritage line of klipsch loudspeakers are the best speakers ever produced, bar none! When I was younger, my trip to a local audio store cemented my opinion. While there, I listened to the famous Nautilus 801, and as sort of an afterthought, I played "Trees" by Rush through a set of Klipschorns. My jaw hit the floor. From that point on I have listened to many fine transducers, but ALL pale in comparison to the Klipschorns. I have never heard the Cornwalls, but I WILL OWN A PAIR! I don't want the III's, because I want the Plywood cabinets. Would my best bet be to go with the new woofer driver created for the III's, or go for a replacement made by Emminence, or similar manufacturer? Are these woofers 4 or 8 ohm?
  8. Just wondering if anyone has tried this combo, and the results.
