  1. thanks for the input. im thinking i should probably just keep them. i only considered parting with them to fiance second pair of la scala's. i was listening to my marantz 2325 receiver with la scala's on the main speaker output and cornwall's on my remote out put. i think the combination sounds better than any setup ive had to date. ive gotten it in my head that i want a second set of la scala's that i can run 4 la scala's and 4 cornwall's on my marantz 4400 4 channel receiver. considering the fact that we dont have much space in our cabin the whole idea is probably insane. what a hobby. its a wonder any of us have any hearing left at all.

  2. ebay item#6780135149. i was watching this auction with much interest. was pretty surprised to see them go for 999.95. i have a pair of 1986 cornwalls that are exactly like those except mine are in mint like new condition. i had offered mine here for 800.00 and no one was interested. i am going to sell my newer version 1986 cornwall's or a pair of 1983 cornwalls with butted corners. im kind of conflicted on which pair to sell. i like the older version but am not crazy about the butted corners. i like the 1986 cornwalls also but not crazy about the fact that the back panels arent removable. any input as to the pro's and cons of older cornwalls and newer version cornwall's would be appreiciated.

  3. i just finished installing new anderson windows so i can listen to la scalas outside with out taking them outdoors. no small job when you consider my cabin is built with 10 inch thick logs. i spaced the windows about 10 feet apart. i built pedestal's with castors that i can easily roll speakers up to the windows. my wife left at 6 am and i had my la scala's in position at 6:15. sat down about 60 ft back in the woods and listened to thick as a brick. it was as if i had never heard it before. ( special thanks to Bob Crites, AA networks sound great).

  4. i have a pair of mint cornwall II's for sale. i would like to offer them here before i list them. they are located in rochester/buffalo n.y. area. i know forum members like to buy cheap but 800.00 is the best i can do. i was unsucessful at posting pics here but will gladly email pics. i beleive they are oak. absolutely beautiful. im only selling them because i need to come up with cash for another audio adventure. local pick up.

  5. my grandmother let me tag along with my older brother to see the Buffalo Springfield. the next time i saw Neil was at the woodstock music festival. after the release of 4 way street i was a dyed in the wool Neil fan. i saw CSNY again in buffalo at Rich stadium in 1974 with Santana. from 1975 to 1999 he had alot of concerts in syracuse, rochester, buffalo, saratoga springs, toronto, cleveland, columbus and Boston. in 2000 my wife got us front row center seats for the silver and gold show in saratoga springs (the internet is a beautiful thing). since then there has been the CSNY 9/11 aftermath tour. front row seats again on 7/4/03 greendale in saratoga springs. front row seats greendale at the ohio state convocation center in cleveland on 3/11/04. i have met him twice. 1st time at the syracuse fairground where he signed my trans album. and again at the sound check before the silver and gold show in saratoga springs. that was probably the most memorable concert experiance to date. Chrisse hynde threw me her sweat band and i bellied up on the stage and got one of Neil's guitar pics. experiance of a life time.

  6. Neil has been in my thoughts and prayers alot these last 2 months. it really rocked me when i heard of his brain aneurysm. i was much relieved to hear that his surgery went well and that full recovery is expected. upon being released from the hospital he returned to nashville and finished recording his new album. im a little sentimental when it comes to Neil Young. weve been getting older together for a long time. i look forward to seeing him a 24th time. indications are that he wont be going on the road this summer but noone really knows. i don't count him out for a minute. on 3/11/04 i saw his soybean powered convoy pull out of cleveland ohio in a sleet storm on black ice.

  7. im not sure of the price but these guys definately have exact match black grill cloth for klipsch. go to www. new foam.com, known around these parts as the speaker place. 3047 west henrieta rd. rochester n.y. 14623. 585 424 3680. these folks have always treated me great. good luck

  8. i get a handle on one obsession and another takes off. quit drinking alcohol and coffee consumtion tripled. quit smoking and my eating went out of control. will somebody please hit the 1000.00 buy it now on the unfinished birch la scala's in memphis. i promised my self that i wouldnt drive more than 500 miles one way for my second set. i can feel a full blown obsession coming on. the last time i checked they had been viewed 11 times.

  9. greetings, i just hit buy it now on original rebuilt AA crossover networks from b. crites. as far as i can tell there is nothing wrong with the my AL'S. ive been reading all the info i could find on klipsch crossovers and it seems the AA's are more desirable than AL's. my hearing is pretty much shot so any differance in sound will probably be lost on me. i wanted to get original klipsch AA's so that they would look like they belong in my la scala's. i didnt hesitate a second because i previosly had sent bob c. a set of 77m tweeters on a monday for new diaphram instaltion and had them back in my speakers on friday. i would have to say that it was probably the best transaction and service that ive ever had. i wouldnt mind hearing any thoughts on AL's compared to AA's.

  10. i suspected there wouldbe west coast folks ahead of me. i know to catch a keeper ive got to have a hook in the water. i would only take on the expense and risks involved if they are infact mint walnut veneer with mitered corners. after taking a closer look i couldnt tell if they are walnut veneer or stained or if corners are mitered. alot hangs in the balance.

  11. hello, thanks for offering the cornwalls. i was the 12th viewer of the ebay auction and first to post it in this forum "great buy on cornwall"s, hurry, just listed, calif. only". i live in new york and wasnt able to bid. i am new to klipsh speakers and this forum. i would like to purchase the cornwalls if you are willing to ship them. i wouldnt ask except walnut cornwall's dont seem to be to plentiful. i certainly couldnt blame you if you choose not to ship in favor of local pick up. i wouldnt expect you to take on the extra work involved for nothing. i would make it a little easier for you by shipping you custum made shipping boxes. the boxes would be lined with 2 inch thick styrofoam board on top and 4 sides with 4 inch thickness on the bottom that would have 2 inch deep recess for the riser to sit into. with container standing upright you would just have tip and slide speaker into container and retape. i have cornwalls with risers so i know what the exact inside demensions would have to be. the peace of mind i would get from sending you my containers would be worth cost to ship them to you. if you want you can check my ebay feedback and contact me via ask "seller a question". i have 2 listings up now. my ebay ID is tuned4life. you can see by my feedback that im no stranger to packing and shipping speakers. thanks for your consideration. doug
