  1. Yes, I think you are missing something. I believe that Kenwood is in the same league as the old Fischer brand and probably on par with Daewoo (Walmart; Target). In the case of Kenwood, you get what you pay for and that usually ain't much.

    Cheers!

  2. Go for the RF-7's...spend a little more and have Dean's crossover upgrade (subtle improvement, very subtle)...these have a sweet resonance that you just don't find on the new 83's....

Upgrade your amp sometime as well, the Rf-7s need power to support headroom...you will need it for these power hungry speakers.

    Cheers!

  3. Your 2807 will have no trouble running your Klipsch. However, the more power you apply to them the more headroom, and the more clarity you will ultimately obtain. I have two HT rooms, one with a 2807 running Angstrom in-ceiling speakers and it sounds fine. For more exhilarating sound, I use my 2nd listening room which features separates with a 300+ watt amp. It makes my RF7s truly reach their potential.

  4. It looks great my son, if not a professional job at least a fairly good try! I'm sure you're dad can touch up where he can....

When he is ready to step up leave a message, there is a lot of great info here, a lot of good advice if you can extract the bitterness from those that just chose poorly in their equipment selection. Good thing to remember, buy right the first time, go for quality and what is proven. Don't settle for less...KEF, Denon, etc....

    Cheers and good luck!
