  1. dude.. i believe there is no onboard surround DSP or decoder on the 4.1 the surround source would be entirely dependant on your computer sound card and its output configuration. you might wanna check the capabilities and specs of your pc sound card first. =)
  2. hey reece.. i understand that concept about pairing speakers. as much as possible, i am gonna try run them as they were meant to be. i mean these klipsch dudes have done a pretty fine job tuning and putting the system together, only right that i do them speakers justice. thanks again for the feedback. =) oh, is the iFi available where you are? i got a bunch of friends eagerly awaiting the iFi to reach our shores. i was considering the iFi due to its ipod compatability, but was kinda sad to find out admist all that great features of having a wireless remote for the iPod, there was no integration of a USB or firewire port from the dock to a mac or pc. on my opinion, that would make the iFi perfect! one stop dock for all my music and syncing needs.
  3. reece.. thanks for the response... sorry my initial post wasnt clear. i never did intend to have it done in a surround set up. always prefered a 2.1 mix. i get what you mean with regards to hooking up the speakers and such. i do understand hooking up two speakers be it in parallel or series to the same output might just fry the amps. i intend to use the 4.1 as it was meant to be, ie, single satts per speaker output. was just wondering about the hooking up bits from my mac...as i only have a stereo output and i cant afford a usb audio interface. =) thanks lots dude! much appreciated.
  4. Hi Guys, Pardon my ignorance, i am quite new to the world of Klipsch so please bear with me should my questions seem silly. I have been a great fan of the Promedia 2.1, however only recently i have been able to afford a pair for my pc back home. Unfortunately the Promedia 2.1 is totally sold out and not available at all here in Singapore. I have considered the GMX A-2.1 as an alternative, but looking at the specifications, i would like to have the power handling of the Promedia 2.1 instead. Lucky me managed to score a used Promedia 4.1 here locally. I intend to use this in a 2.1 set up. this is what i have in mind... Stereo output from my PC 3.5mm socket to one of the inputs on the Promedia 4.1 and just hook up 2 satts to the corresponding output for a 2.1 system or With a Y Interconnect, split my stereo output from the PC into 2 mono outputs, and send these one each into each of the inputs on the Promedia 4.1. and use all 4 satts, essentially creating a 2.1 system with 4 satts and a great sub. or With a Y Interconnect, split my stereo output from the PC into 2 mono outputs, and send these one each into each of the inputs on the Promedia 4.1. and use only 2 satts, each per channel, creating also a 2.1 system. Essentially, once i am done with this, i should be able to get the Promedia 2.1 which has always been my dream, but with a bigger sub (2 x 6.5" vs 1 x 6.5" on the Promedia 2.1) You guy's think this would work alright? Please advice. Thank you.
