  1. It matters if you live in the South MDF has a thing about coming a part in moisture. Here in Louisiana the hunidity is high all year long. A good grade of plywood is not effected. MDF is what cheep furniture is made of and you see how long it last. For the price they ask I would like to have PLYWOOD. MY son house got 3" of water. Both for his KSF 10.5 got the bottom wet. I had to build new enclosure for both. The MDF swole up and seperated Thanks to Katrina. In time MDF will fail. I wounder what Paul Klipsch would have say. Let's see cut cost are what he built HIS company in QUALITY I have only been a fourm member for a short time and all I here is the Klipschorn are the only speaker. I agree. I would hate to see the quality of the K-horn change for poor constrution material Glenn

  2. Thanks to all for replying I live in a southern state where humidity is high I know the difference between plywood,MDF and partical board I use MDF for pattern makeing for my SCMI CNC I buy the best I can fine. But the moster still gets to It. I would perfer to have plywood . I plan on getting a pair soon. That's why I would like to know when Klipsch started useing MDF. Glenn

  3. Thanks for replaying. I did notice the pic and you are right, it does look like plywood. In my humble opinion MDF is not a good product for speaker. I would like to think my next K-horn will out last me. I'am looking for another pair know. I live in Baton Rouge and able to drive to pick up the speakers (500 miles) Glenn

  4. To tell the truth that is what I had in mine . I'am still trying to find out just where in Geogia they are . Would like to see the pic. I sure wouldn't want to drive all that why and fine out that they had been painted and flowers all over them . Glenn
