  1. i wouldnt complain if i were u, look at the post 'promedia 4.1 in australia' and you think waiting a couple months is bad, in the words of arnie,,,STOP WHINING
  2. no worries, thx for your help, i think ill be in the market for an XP soon anyway by the looks of it
  3. hmmm it wasnt muted, the strange thing is, it works fine if i output as stereo, for example, 5th element, instead of using the DD 5.1 soundtrack, in the menu options of the dvd (not dvd station or soundcard settings or anythign like that) i can tell it to just use stereo, and setting up the connections the way u said works fine, however when i try to do the same but as DD 5.1 i get no sound at all, thast what made me conclude that it might be coz my soundcard isnt 5.1 and couldnt interpret the signal any ideas what else could it be?
  4. i tried this and coulndt get it to work. ive got the H+ card using the digital out to my live drive spdif in but i only got the SBLive platinum (not 5.1 version) and if i play a dvd that outputs as stereo it does work, but when its DD or DTS im not getting any sound, which suggests to me that if you got this to work then its coz the 5.1 version of the soundcard is able to decode the signal and mine is not able to, is that right? also if that is the case, the signal the SBLive 5.1 outputs via the analog connections will be 5.1? i would have thought it would need a digital connection for that?
  5. can i ask where you got them from? im in vic too. and is there any indication when/if the 5.1s will be available in aus? thx This message has been edited by Eagle on 07-11-2001 at 06:05 AM
  6. ok, i do apologise lots if this has been asked b4, i did a little looking around these boards and couldnt really find an answer, found alot about soundcards connecting to the 5.1s but not decoder cards. So i basically wanna know, will/does the 5.1s have a spdif connection and still allow for the normal soundcard connections. i bought the DTT2500 cambridge setup a while back coz it satisfied all my needs, i can connect the spdif on the dvd decoder card to its amp and get dolby digital 5.1, and also the outputs from my soundcard to its amp and get all other sounds from windows. will the 5.1s do the same job. The only reason i bought the cambridge was coz there wasnt a klipsch 5.1 setup and now i found out there is, of course im itching to get em, so can anyone inform me? or do i stick with what i got.
