  1. I can get a new Philips Streamium NP2500 for free.I've read the reviews and found that this streamer does not support Pandora,Last FM or Slacker.I'm guessing I'll still have alot of music options. Will I really be missing out on that much?
  2. I started this thread to get opinions on the sound quality of these speakers, specifically the mids.Recently I sold my Forte 2's.They were probably the best speakers that I have owned. They had to go because they were too large physically and overpowered my 12 x 16 room.I'm looking to get the KG3's or 3.2's, hoping that they would be a better fit.I know that there are always compromises, and I'm not looking to compare the KG's to the Forte's.
  3. I've read online that KG3's and 3.2's have very good bass and treble, but come up short in the midrange.Anyone here with firsthand knowledge of these 2 model's care to comment ?
  4. I have owned both the RF3's and Forte II's,both are great speakers. The Forte is in my opinion the better of the 2.I used a variety of inexpensive integrateds with both.My personal favorite amp for both was a 20 wpc HK 401.A close second was the Marantz 1060b.
  5. I've been thinking about Internet Radio lately as a way of listening to new music. As far as I'm concerned FM radio is dead.I think that for the moment I'll go the cheapo route, and pickup a cable long enough to connect my computer to my stereo.
  6. Do any of you listen to internet radio ? How are you connected ? Do you use a DAC,streaming device,or a direct connection from your computer to your stereo?
  7. I have a chance to buy a pair of used Synergy F3's dirt cheap (less than $ 200 ).I can't find any legit reviews on the internet.Any of you have first hand experience with these speakers ? I'd appreciate your opinion.
  8. Will 8-12 watts of tube power be enough to bring a pair of Forte II's to moderate listening levels in a 12x16 room?
  9. Are any of you using gainclones or hybrid SS / Tube amps with your Klipsch speakers?Any opinions or comments?
  10. Thanks for all the advise.I think I'd avoid the vintage stuff.Too many potential problems. If I decide to go with tubes,I'll try to stay with something fairly new. As I stated in my initial post I'm looking for a solid low end,and unfortunatly the 2 tube amps that I have owned fell short in that department.Maybe I'll take a look at a gainclone. Are any of you using them ?
  11. Last week I picked up a pair of Forte II's.Right now I'm using an old NAD 3120 integrated, which is doing a pretty good job.I would like to go the tube route, but I'm on a tight budget ($500 max).Any recommendations for a tube integrated.I listen to mostly modern electric blues and classic hard rock like Zeppelin and Deep Purple.I know I don't need a lot of power,my listening room is 12x16,but I'd like an amp that will be able to do the Forte's lower end justice.
  12. I picked up my Forte II's last week. The cabinets are in need of a refinishing. When the fall comes,I will sand and repaint them black.
  13. Thanks for the answer.Another question you might be able to help me with. The black finish,is it paint or stain?
  14. Is the veneer on the Forte II real wood,or is it vinyl ?
  15. I have a strictly 2 channel stereo setup.I use a pair of RW-8 subs to fill in the missing low end on my RB-25's. I have the subs set up on the outside of each of the stands that hold the RB-25'S. Any opinions or potential problems with placing the bookshelves on short stands on top of the subs?
