TWO QUESTIONS/// maybe someone here can tell me if this will work better..I read this on a review last night....has anyone done this? "Sssssssh! Listen up! Want to improve the already great sound of your 3805? Set all speakers to large; turn subwoofer OFF or NONE. Set to play on Pure Direct. The full signal + LFE is sent to your L&R mains. Connect a "Y" adaptor from your front L&R preamp outs to your subwoofer in. Why do this? This removes a crossover that results in even warmer, sweeeter but cleaner sound! Believe me...you are not getting the most potential out of either" SECOND QUESTION// i have the denon 1803 but i want the 3805....if i set the 1803 at 30 db and the 3805 at 30 db with all the same settings would i notice a more powerful sound? or is it only on the top end where the more wattage kicks in... hey yo we got the exact same setup..and your asking the same questions i wanna know lolol..Ive been in a delima lately trying to figure this all out too..I really like that high end Yamaha HTR 5890 at 140 watts per channel but ppl are still telling me that denon 3805 is better..A hi fi store locally here is discontinuing them, in a few months i can get one for under 8 bills im sure...for 8 hundred im going with the 3805...im reading and its not only the wattage at 110 or 120 a channel ( hearing differnt specs) its the AL24 processing which supports the 192 khz sampling frequency for DVD audio.. the denon link wich processes from the DVD player and the Super CD player with better purity for musical reproduction. Also Ive read that the unit has a feature called 7 channel equal power that allows full power to all seven channels..(this feature i know will do better than Yamaha's 7 channel power supply) ...not to mention i like the cool touch pad remote the flip down cover on the face..it just looks beefier and better..So all that being said and all my research ive done..im getting one of them before they close out I think it will make a huge difference...I'm hoping...Monty

its very ironic... if i told u i know u wont beleive me but god as my witness this is how it happened...my parents were on the show in 76 i beleive and won the grand prize. this is true without a doubt beleive it if u want to or not..But what is very suprising to me and my parents is one day i was watching tv..I beleive it was in 89 or 90 cant remember I had cable and one of the channels cable was offering was the game show channel..24/7 all old game shows...well one day i was watching it and there they were on the show as monty hall picked them out of the crowd and they stood up and played the game..I was so shocked i couldnt believe it..i put a tape in and recorded it...I actually missed part of it but i got the end of it when they revealed the door they picked was a fridge stove washer dryer and something else cant remember..it was all very kewl...pretty strange i know but It's all true....back to this awesome pic...can u ever get tired of it? i cant

LOLOLOL im LMAO on this how funny ....I wouldnt trade the statue for your house although the sub is negotiable..You want door number 2 instead i suppose lolol.. lmao monty hall..ive heard that a million times..its as old as my granddad and hes farting dust...btw my mom and dad were really on that show i recorded the episode ...im serious all joking aside ..back in the 70's they took home a kitchen set...anyway...getting back to the statue it weighs just over 30 pounds no porcelan here...and if u paid alot of money for porcelan u got snaked big time.......ty hugs n kisses

Jason I had the exact same problem when i first brought mine home and set it up behind the couch..My first impression was omg this sub sucks. then I decided to move it to a different location..I placed it closer to the sound stage pointing the driver across the stage( as shown in the pic)...Cleaned it right up! sounded awesome..tight and musical..i was so supirsed on how the location makes the world of difference..keep moving it around till u get the right sound..I found that closer to the mains sounds better..behind then or in front of the left or right mains..or off to the side as shown in pic...let us know if anything changes Jason....GL

Ya Andy Grifith was quite the gentlemen..would never do anyone wrong..he would never compliment a Belle system and not compliment a reference system in the reference system post...oh well the Opey days are long gone...btw that statue comes hand carved from China worth more than your house....ty....huggs n kisses to all mwahhh

Paul your exactly right about that..I had it there..just moved it over for the pic. I tried alot of different positions but aiming the driver across the sound stage seemed to have the best effect...ty for your reply
