Thanks for all the responses guys. I've been gone all weekend, just got
back. But anyways, I am definitely considering CVs. However, in regard
to oldbuckster, I can honestly say I have never "cranked" an set of
speakers that I have owned, so I don't think CVs will have a problem.
At the same time, oldbuckster, maybe you're right, go with some old
Klipschs, or just wait. I know there are better brands than Cerwin
Vega, but I personally have liked what I heard from them. However, I do
agree that I should wait, and look around first.
To everyone else, thanks for the posts []

Hey, pathlesstaken... 2 questions, where do you live (city) and how much do you want for the AT-12s?
-
The problem with that, though, is that where I live, the main "audio
shops" are places like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. I do not know of a
single small audio shop anywhere around here where I live (Alpharetta,
Ga).
-
Yeah, I'm really liking the idea of having some Cerwin Vegas because
I've heard them to be very good, and plus I can afford them...
-
Yeah, I agree about that with Ebay. It does happen, even with Bose
speakers *cough! cough! overrated! cough! cough!* Actually, i just took
a look at craigslist and found a great deal on some CV D3s right here
in Alpharetta, so yes I agree that Ebay isnt the best, but the search
is on elsewhere too

EBAY??? USELESS????? ARE YOU KIDDING???!?!?!?!?!? I waited and ended up
with an Earthquake SuperNova MK-IV 10 sub for $374.99 (MSRP $840) off
ebay, so I wouldn't call it useless, but classifieds and craigslist are
probably much more reliable....makes me want to go grab the paper...[]

Alright guys thanks for the responses so far. And yes ajcllc,
you're right, just need to be patient. Besides, I'm in no hurry, and
these are for a small room, so space would need to be cleared first[]

Hi all,
I've looked eveywhere, but if i have missed a post about this, please
post the link, but untill then, here's what I am looking for...
Some budget, very tight budget ($350 or less), HT mains. I would like
to go with Klipschs, but can never find a pair for that cheap, so I am
considering some Cerwin Vegas of some sort. I believe the Cerwin Vega
V-6Fs would fit the bill, and I've already got a sub, so the low end is
taken care of, but if anyone has any other recommendations of any other
Cerwins or any other brand, please post.

Okay, so for you to run speaker off that source only, you need an amp right?
-
Okay, for anyone who knows, I've been trying to figure out the
"Hi-Level Out" outputs (please refer to chops' pics). Does anyone know
if these are powered outputs or if they only carry a signal. Please let
me know.

I kind of have the same probelm as you, wheelman, except, when I'm
trying to install say Far Cry, I get the error saying something like
"Error: File Data1.cab is either corrupt or missing. Reinstalling this
application may fix this problem." except I have no Idea what that
means or what to do about it. However, I would expect no problems with
Far Cry, esp. considering I get this error when trying to install the
64-bit extension (BTW I Do have XP 64) so I have no Idea what
is going on. Also for me, if anyone knows what I'm talkin about, when I
go to play Far Cry, the picture pops up, and then nothing, doesn't run
or anyting, and yet, the same copy ran on my old Dell w/ XP
home....help!

I must add one more thing about this great little sub. I've had it long
enough to know what it sounds like, and in all honesty, the sound from
this sub is sooo much better than that from my PMU sub, I only use this
thing now. Also, I finally got around to playing Call of Duty 2, and
this thing shook my house, and was so lound (only turned up to the 8-9
o'clock position) it could be heard out side, easily... its amazing
-
Yes, you're very right chops, its overkill and its
really cool. The great thing is is that the little Earthquake is loud
plus it has good SQ, exactly what I'm looking for. Its so amazing.
Plus, with its small size, it fits under me feet better than the PMU
sub
-
Okay, my MK-IV 10 just got here today, and I've had it running for all
of 5 minutes here, and I must say...its amazing. I agree with chops,
this sub is great, it works so well with the PMU 5.1s its amazing...I HIGHLY
recommend one of these if you want a great sub that's very good
sounding, powerful, and compact (Sublime is amazing on this sub!!!) No
other way to go in my opinion.
-
Ok good...just had to double check, thanks.
-
Chops,
I have just one question about the MK-IV 10...Is there a volume control on the sub?
I am hopefully about to get one and I want to know befor I shake my house apart....
Very Tight budget HT mains
