  1. Hello, I have SF-1s and really enjoy them. I think for their price, especially in the US, they're great speakers. To me, they sound best if you cut them round about 80Hz and give the 2 first octaves to a fast sub, because they're not very precise in the 40 to 80Hz range (and of course can't go down to 20Hz). The other slight issue would be that they get a bit harsh sounding when playing very loud, but honestly do very well at reasonable volumes. SF-1s are the speakers that made me like the Klipsch sound! [] And now most other brands sound kind of bland to my ears.
  2. Thank you all for your advice. I will have to try and get around to listening to the F-3s. Has anyone heard the RF-82s yet? Are they less "boomy" than the RF-35s? Closer to the RF-5s? (In my first post I had confused their price with that of the RF-63s)
  3. Thanks for your advice. Aside from the financial aspect, my only problem with the RF-5s and also with the whole new Reference range as a matter of fact, is the rear firing port. I can't leave much space behind the speakers at all and already have this issue with the SF-1s. Even with little room behind them, do you still think the RFs will sound far better?
  4. Thanks for your answers. As the technical specs of both seemed pretty close and I read the F-3 was as good if not better than the RF-3, I wondered how far it was from the RF-5. The RF-5 is still quite a bit more expensive here in Europe than the F-3 hence my question. Is the RF-5 much more dynamic and precise, and how would there frequency response curves compare? Thanks again.
  5. Hello, I'm new to this forum. I own Klipsch SF-1 speakers and really like them. I would like to upgrade, though, and wondered if you could tell me how different the F-3 and RF-5 sound since I have never listened to either. I like the new RF-82's looks but it's way over budget. Thanks
