  1. I was a little skeptical when advised to employ a sound card to improve the delivery of my audio . Well after placing the Revolution 7.1 in its slot I must say that for separation of the sound into identifiable or familiar and recognisable instruments and such is quite a bit more accurate and even possible . I am still learning just what I am listening to , which alone is fun . At first I was under the impression after adding a Klipsch 2.0 speaker set was the last step in fidelity . Being a typical male my second impression was add lots of Klipsch 2.0 speakers . I am now holding two sets of the 2.0 (new from e-Bay) and one of the 2.1 (refurbished from Klipsch) . I was running out of means to attach the sets to the computer when to my raised eyebrow the suggestion was made concerning the sound card . After due consideration , if sound can be improved and incorporate the best qualities of the combination of speakers , I think I made a useful addition . I would like to ask if this particular combination of components are familiar to a savvy audiophile who might be able to direct my attention to a useful manner in which to string these together . The three ports I am using are the center and of course the left and right . With one system each the 2.1 being the center and the 2.0's being either side . I am not deaf to the notion that I might be better off adding or subtracting , or both , to realise within reason the ceiling of fidelity I might achieve . For myself the answer would lie in splicing the sound equitably with what I have or learning from advice as to what is possible . I listen mostly to Mozart and sixties seventies Pop R&R and a long list of composer's from the fifteenth century to today . As for the movies I enjoy , the sound is often too loud and the speech indistinct . Battlestar Galactica is a terrible offender with mumbly articulations that would require captioning to repair . Now I really cannot think of anything else useful so if you are able to advise , advise away and many thanks in advance Frederick
  2. I will spend what ever it takes . The sound comes through pretty well now , however as you note there is precious little default flexibility . Now you mention two selections , are you familiar with them ? I will ask in the Apple forums if you prefer not to opine about something you are not familiar with authoritatively . I can expect fairly robust opinion's from that quarter . The price although important is not relevant at the level you quote . I would be perfectly prepared to relinquish either sum knowing the choice enjoyed my wish to coordinate the two sets of 2.1 Pro Media and leave room for further hardware . Hardware such as would permit the use of the latest of sound from Movie media and the like . As I enjoy them now the symphonic chores are reproduced with pretty darn good effect . My main interest in the hardware would be to resolve the standards typical with this generation of DVD's for the theater sound . I would try to wiggle the hardware on to permit the software to find the order of reproduction that is so common . Which stuff that is , including extra speakers if necessary , I am in no position to venture much more than a guess . Thanks for your input and please feel encouraged to express your own preferences . Sincerely Frederick Royce Perez
  3. Hi : I just got off the phone with the help here at Klipsch . The gentleman to whom I asked my question of how to address the idea of how to get the most out of my two sets of 2.1 Pro media's suggested that with a new sound card I might get somewhere . With the idea of incorporating some recent applications in DVD's et al was the lingering impression that I might pick and choose elements of the other "Pro Media" hardware to tune the audio from these media now assisted by an appropriate Sound Card . So what sound card would I choose to accomplish the sensible idea for the best use of the two 2.1's and perhaps adding what part of another system to "Wake up" the sound to what is generally available today ? God bless the manufacturer who makes it possible to hear the world the way it is . Frederick
