The RX V663 has pre-outs and I have a amp hooked up to it . A person would think that a 665 would offer pre-outs knowing that it is the updated version of the 663,

Newegg has Yamaha RX V1900 for $579. Thats a really good deal. In think its like 130wpc but not forsure. I think that it is only offered on the weekends at that price. Good luck.

I was wondering about you(and the twins). Prayers for a quick recovery.

Thanks Muel. Thats some gal.

Very good Willland. I agree. Marantz is top of the line( I think). It has all one would need plus pre-outs.

What is Pandora?

500 bucks isn't bad. You might get an idea of what brand you want and go for a used receiver. Check out Audiogon. Good luck.

Prayers for you and your family.

Cornbread and beans.

I like Yamaha. It does well with my RF62's but the Yamaha I have (663) won't push a set of RF7's without a amp. Marantz is even better (I think) if you have the extra cash. I had a low-end Denon and really never cared for it.

Watch out for the 9 year old boys(I have one). They act like your best friend until they are alone with there Mom, and he's wanting a video game. Spill's his guts every time.
Its good you got the XPA 5 instead of the 3. You have room to expand. Good luck brother.

I'm glad to hear you went with eD. It might take a while to arrive but its worth the wait. And excellent customer support. So hang in there bro.

Sootshe, I was wondering if the baby cheeks horn you used was a Selenium HM17-25?
-
I would sell all of them and go back to LaScala's but that is just my opinion and dosen't really help. Good luck with your search my friend.
-
So I guess your 663 will push them fairly well? I bet your HTPC helps for a good clean input.
As far as the Emo goes, I would enjoy what you have for awhile. So when you do get a amp you will really love what you have.

I have a Emotiva amp hooked up to my 663 and it sounds great

Mr. Klappenberger, with all do respect my friend, do you have a wooden horn that replaces the cornwall horn?
I'm new at this upgrade stuff, and I read every thing thats posted as far as cornwall/cornscala goes and I get confused very easy.

I agree with SuBXeRo. Get the XPA5 or XPA3(I would go with the 5) and have power to spare. And get a 5 year warranty and great customer service. Good luck

I didn't read the whole thread But when I was in grade school, my oldest brother and his geek friend installed a 8-track and 2 speakers in a curler box(hair curler) and that was our home stereo. It was (pardon me) Top Notch. There was no better.

I live in the Springfield area. Thats to bad. ED makes a good sub. You can call them and they will take the time to talk to you and figure out whats would work for you. Good luck brother.
HDMI question

My reciever, a Yamaha RX V663 supports a (HDMI) video signal of 1080p/60Hz and below. So if I bought a flat screen TV that supported 1080p/120 or 240 and a blue-ray player and ran them both thru my reciever, would I end up getting a video signal of 1080p/60Hz on the TV because of the reciever? Would the reciever be a bottle neck? Does my question make any since?
