  1. If you have time, and are interested, you could check out Tweaktown.com. They have some great gudes for xp. You can find info in one or two of the guides aboout how to change your search engine from MSN to Google. Basically if i type in some keywords to search in my address bar it will search google instead of MSN, that way you may not need the goole toolbar.
  2. For what it's worth here is my opinion. Currently I have 2 Seagate Barracuda's 10k SCSI and a single WD Raptor !0k. The Sata drives are much more quiet than the SCSi, on the other hand I bought bot SCSI (refurbed) from Overstock.com, just make sure there is an adapter included for a drive you might want. These drives cost me $50 a piece, and luckily I got a scsi card for free, wish I had a raid card though. The Raptor of course costs around $150. More info. about the Raptor, it is hot swappable, it also has NCQ (native command queing), which is basically TCQ (Tagged Command Queing) which is part of most SCSI drives. The only resaon I have all the drives in a single PC is that I occasionally attempt modifactions to my pc's or cases which result in destruction, I guess I just have to learn the hard way,, lol. Personally I prefer buying refurb (aside from MOBO) because there is aways manufacturer warranties. The first Raptor I got had a head crash and it was extremely easy to get a replacement. Hope this helps a bit, and NewEgg is definetely a great place to buy from. I have bout 90% of my PC equipment from them
  3. My personal favorite is Foobar2000. Although I don't have Ipod and haven't tried their plugin.
  4. I have to agree with jay, although M-Audio is the only brand I've used (Revo 7.1, currently using internal Delta 410). I'm not necessarily an M-Audio Fanboy, but I've read quite a bit about creative and don't have much faith in them. They even lost a lawsuit for false advertising since one of their soundcards was upsampling to 24bits. and they did not specify. The Delta 410 goes on sale every now and then on NewEgg.com for about $80, it has 8 RCA outs, 2 RCA in, 1 Coax out and 1 in. I believe the sound quality of these two cards is fairly similar, so whichever is easier for your setup would be a good choice. I've read good reviews on the Turtle beach as well, just never tried them. Hope this helps
  5. ]I don't have a coffe table at the moment, but with all my failed computer experimenting lately I cannot use my kitchen table for it's intended purpose. The only benefit to this is when I need some obscure connetor or other piec of equipment I know where it is. I think if I cleanded up the table I would lose a lot of parts that I may need 20 or 30 yers from now. Also, there is always the possibility I may figure out how to fix some of the components I took apart, ADHD makes it dificult. If I can't finish something withing 30 minutes, there is usually no hope after that, lol. I would post a picture, but I don't want to frighten anyone, or have the health department called on me. []
