  1. well problem is I had the RF7 (reference). Had to sell them cause they were TOO big and got a good price for them. That is why the KL650 caught my attention.(small, high efficiency and with, muscles, I believe) On the other side would a decent PA speaker do the job for me ? For example a speaker like this one http://www.ad-systems.com/typo3/index.php?id=42&L=1 Do the KL650 differ a lot to a decent PA speaker ?
  2. All, am interested in Klipsch Heresy & THX ultra for front & center. Am using the A7S-450 sub from Elemental ! What would be the major differences in sound between the KL650 and the Heresy III ? Anyone compared Klipsch THX Ultra and Jamo D7 ?
  3. well that makes me doubt again about the little Sunfire.....
  4. Well I do have faith in the 2x KW120 package. RT12D vs Sunfire Signature EQ however keeps interesting for me cause both have auto EQ. Besides that the Sunfire sure is small, but you are right small often is a compromise ! Had hoped anyone would have tested the RT12D vs the Sunfire Signature......... or an online test or whatever.
  5. Well I could have gotten those KW120 subs really for a decent price but I was not fast enough. I can get 2 "B stock " KW120's now + needed AMP, however they are quite big..... If you would compare RT12D vs the Sunfire True Signature would the Klipsch blow it away and outperform it ? Are the KW120's much better than the RT12D ?
  6. In combination with RF7 which sub will do best [^o)] 2xKW120 1x RT12D 1x Sunfire True EQ Signature Regards,
  7. Hi, did anyone have info on this. Heard somewhere that the new SVS ultra series will have a 15inch Chassis...... Maybe someone knows more ????? Marcel
  8. Jay, well if you wanna make a clone or earn money by starting up a subwoofer company, then simply sent a complete SVS sub to China. They will clone it and ship it back to you for sure. You can then start your own sub line / brand --->"Jaysub"
  9. Hi, Well I do own the +2 sub with 12.3 driver. We did compare it to a +2 sub with the 12.2 driver, which already were fine drivers !! Pro 12.3: -even faster reaction -improved mid bass -more musical -improved efficiency
  10. Friends, An additional power amp for the fronts does not only work well with Denon receivers, believe me :) I have the RXV2600 and for the RF7 I use a Yamaha MX Power Amp and the difference sure is huge. By adding an additional power amp you will give any receiver (in this receiver price range) more air to breath. If the fronts do not need to be powered more power is available for the rest of the speakers in the system which are most of the time even smaller than the fronts so easier to drive, so you are helping your receiver a lot !! More power, more bass performance and your system will never shut down and you do not need to be scared for low impendance loads, cause if an additional power amp does not work what then ? (except for calling Israely Air Force to buzz your receiver and fly home again safely, you do not need a radar invisable stealth fighter, they proved it ghe ghe ghe -) I am considering to replace the MX Power Amp ( for the RF7 ) by a more powerful PA Amp. Regards from a warm Europe, Marcel
  11. All, Thanks so far ! Do understand that a PA amp does not look that nice and that they are cooled by a fan. But if it comes up to sound would a PA amp do the job better or not ? Am Interested in a professional amp like: QSC / Crown / Yamaha / Samson Servo / Carver
  12. Hi, Need more power for my RF7 speakers. Now I am wondering whether to buy a Hifi Power Amp or a good PA Power Amp ?? What is the technical difference between a PA amp and a Hifi Power Amp ??
  13. Hi Jay, Yeah it is really big, I put the sub now in the back ( left ) as it was the only place where I could put it. It is now corner loaded, I had my Acoustic Research W38 sub situated there before and it only boomed. The AR was a nasty sub and did not know when to shut up at all, so when I put the SVS there I was so scared it would boom too but amazingly it did not boom at all. Maybe that is the difference between an average subwoofer (AR) and a very good subwoofer (SVS) ? To make the set complete I would have loved to have a Klipsch sub at home but in Europe the RSW15 ( Klipsch the World does not end in the U.S. Wake Up !!! ) is not available so the most powerful / active and moderate priced Klipsch sub for me was the RSW12 and that one just wasn't good enough for me, unfortunately. Then I got the chance to get a demo PLUS2 with the new drivers in it and really as new, listened to it and fell in love. Ok it is big and quite ugly but for me it does all the things I need and at a price I can just afford. Plays wonderful with music and is really awesome with HT. While watching movies I am always smiling, it is so violent, goes so deep and loud ( sub set to 1/4 gain ) but on a nice controlled way. Ok there are / should be many better subwoofers for music, I would prefer a Velodyne DD18 /1812 too but then I have to sell a kidney I think......In the price categorie the +2 is in my opnion the CHAMP.
  14. It sure is BIG but for me it works fine. But never listen too much to people and find for yourself the best subwoofer. Whether REL or Velodyne or whatever, it should make YOU feel happy. ( do not look at all the stuff on the ground and so on, what playing a bit with the SVS and my system )
  15. I have been looking for a musical and HT sub for a long time as well, and first it had to be a small sized subwoofer. So I did listen to several subs........ Mj Acoustics, Velodyne, Rel, Klipsch RSW. From all of these I liked the RSW12 best, fast reaction and real strong in the upper bass, it quite impressed me actually. Music it played wonderful, fast....acccurate and it was quite capable with HT. But for HT I found it missed the serious impact ! As I own the RF7 I was a bit scared that the RSW12 would not dramatically improve my situation. The RF7 are fast and powerful in the upper bass too and can kick hard. So why adding a sub that would do almost the same? Remind, the RF7 when connected to a powerful amp sure can make you feel the bass and sounds wonderful. So in the end to match my RF7 perfectly I switched from a small subwoofer to almost a huge cabinet. I bought the SVS Plus 2 (12.3), never heard and SVS before but I must admit for me it sounds perfect. Works really well with the RF7 and in HT it will blow you out off your seat for sure..........
