  1. I just bought an RSW-12 from a dealer

on line, not sure if its an authorized

Klipsch dealer, but they were an actual store and seemed reputable.

They had them on clearance, I got the sub for $620.90 delivered to my

door, two days ago and have been rockin' out ever since. Shipping

only took 3 days and everything was double

boxed. Very happy. Not sure if i can say who they were in here but if

you email me i will forward the link. I actually discovered them

through Amazon.com which from experience they always back their

vendors products/transactions, but when I went to the vendors web

site, they had just marked them down even further. Couldn't

    pass it up!

I see that the vendor lists the sub as the "RSW-12B". What is the deal with the "B"? What did the box it came in say?

    Thanks

  2. BEC - I'll email you. Thanks.

    Another idea...

This might be a dumb question, but what is the possibility of using the mid & hi horns and crossovers from Heresy HBR's and swapping out the 12" woofer with the 15" K-33 and putting all of them in a homemade Cornwall clone cabinet?

The Heresy and Cornwall use the same mid & hi. I suspect the crossover would have to be modified to work well with the 15" woofers.

Sound ok? I have access to a pair of heresy's, but I want the bass of the cornwalls.

    Thanks

  3. Hi. I've seen the plans here on the forums for building Cornwall cabinets. Other than finding used parts piece by piece on ebay etc., is there another way to get all the required drivers and crossovers? Anyone know if you can get all the drivers and crossovers new from Klipsch and ballpark pricing on what they would cost? I'm pretty good with wood, so I'm really interested in doing a project like this. I'm leary of finding old parts one at a time on ebay though.

    Thanks

  4. jacksonbart - so posting one's opinion and how you came to that opinion

on a pair of speakers is being a troll, but just calling someone else a

troll is not trolling? Why not contribute information instead of

just sitting back and pointing fingers? Do you have any info to

contribute to the topic of this thread?

  5. silversport - I was saying "not really" to Big Piney because he said he

knows where to look for speakers to replace his KG lineup and

specifically asked what series that is made today to look at.

As for the new Synergy lineup...not too impressive....you can go to Best Buy to confirm that. :>(

  6. Maybe a little over the top, but my friends and I have listened to

multiple demos of the RF-7s and have never been impressed. I

alone have listened to them 4 different times at 3 different stores

(twice at the same store with different set ups). We are talking

about a $2200 set of speakers that IMO are just no where near worth the

money. There are just better speakers out there for that kind of

money. Period. This is coming from a long time Klipsch

fan. I have been listening to and loving Klipsch speakers for

    nearly 20 years.

There is something to be said when you can go on ebay and buy 12 year

old Chorus IIs for $600 and even according to the RF-7 lovers the old

$600 speakers sound as good (in my ears better) than the $2200

RF-7s. You might really love your RF-7s, but I think you can't

see the forest for the trees. It is an issue that Klipsch needs

to address with their new speaker development.

  7. I have the old KG 4.2's, one of my friends has a pair of Chorus, and

another friend has the Chorus IIs. We have all listened to

multiple demos of the RF-7s and we have all come to the same

conclusion. None of us would ever buy RF-7s. They are

muddy and have a lousy low end. Not a music speaker for

sure. They are made to be used with a sub for movies. If

your new Choruses are in decent shape, you just might put the RF-7's on

    ebay.
