  1. TB, I am awaiting the delivery of my CW III's and was looking to add risers to them. Your post is the newest (2003) on this topic..... Why the tennis balls instead of a riser? The weight of the CW dosen't crush the ball half to the floor? Sound improvement? How? Thanks,
  2. Speaking of room size.... I plan to put these in a 15'W x 17'L room, with the speakers on the 17' wall. Not ideal, but that's the space I have to work with. I know these can fill a room 5X the size with great sound, but its more the quality than the quantity (although I do like to feel the bass drum thump) that I seek. The quantity is icing on the cake...
  3. $2987 including 6% sales tax... I was suprised however, that store did not have any Cornwalls to listen to (last time I listened to CW's was in 1979) . Anyway, the salesman explained that they have to pay for them and that due to the cost of the Cornwalls and the fact that they did not sell many Heritage series speakers (other than 2-3 pair of Heresies a year) it was not an item they kept in stock.
  4. I made the purchase this past Saturday 7/30. Per the salesman...The Cherry flavored variety is a special order item and will take about 4-6 weeks. You can get the black and walnut within 7 to 10 days.
  5. I appreciate all the feedback, suggestions etc. which includes keeping the heresy II speakers and selling the RF-5's. That I will do. However, due to lack of space, I must keep the reference center and surrounds. My HT room size is 15 x 17 with a sectional sofa along the back (17' wall) and left side wall. The doorway is on the right side back wall. The LR surrounds are mounted on the LR walls and the center sits above my 52" LCD TV. in the center of the room. I would need a much larger room to use my heresy speakers as rear surrounds or new furniture that allows for them to be placed as needed. Other suggestions for replacing the reference speakers? These would need to be wall mounted as well. Thanks, Ray
  6. I heard my first CW's in 1978, it's been lust ever since... I recently purchased Cherry CW III's (still on back order) for music / 2 channel listening AND to replace my current front HT speakers. Current HT set up: Klipsch - RF-5 fronts, RC 3 II Center, RS 3 II surrounds and RSW 10 sub. ( I also have a pair of Heresy II's ) My plan was to sell the RF-5's and Heresy II's for cash towards the CW III's. What can I expect or what will I sacrifice in HT sound (if anything) for using the CW III's as fronts with the RC 3 II Center, RS 3 II surrounds. (don't think I'll need the sub) Thanks, Ray
