Thanks for the likes! I decided to make yet another change. I will take a photo a bit later. If you look to the front left corner, you can see an antique corner display stand behind the audio system. I moved that out for the first time in 17 years!
I moved the audio rack into that corner, and I just ordered a new, minimalist, industrial floor lamp that will shed light over the turntable! This is a same day delivery from Amazon and should be here sometime this evening. Once I get that in place, I will send that new photo along and see what you all think.

Here then is the livingroom vibe. I use a laptop on the glass table between the two loveseats for streaming via blue tooth into the Bang and Olufsen gear.

Good Wednesday morning friends. Dark, rainy day today here in my state, with lots of flooding going on EAST of here. Anyway, Amazon stopped by yesterday and dropped off a new accessory!
I have always loved my D3 - D4 Diskwasher system, but I got tired of carting it between two floors for listening to the different systems.
So, I located this product which is VERY similar, right down to the real wood handle. This will stay with the U-Turn custom in the livingroom.
I also re-arranged the room a bit and I will share photos for you to take a look at. Meanwhile, here is the new record cleaning system, with stylus brush, and storage pouch etc.

Yes, Jimi and I go back nearly 40 years now. He invited me to audition along with our bass player for HOL . But, that fell through for certain reasons I won't mention here.
It would have been perfect because they wouldn't need those damn tracks on the iPOD any longer for backing vocals and keyboards because we would have had that covered LIVE.
Just as well, I kept my current job of 34 years now, AND continued with the Neil Diamond show band which I dearly enjoyed and miss since it was retired after a 20 year run due to Covid...

Hello everyone, been visiting my folks nearly 900 miles from my home, an annual 'vacation', and hit their 'to do' list during my stay.
So, for the first time in a couple of weeks, back in the Longfellow Music Hall on this LAZY Labour Day weekend to spin a bit of vinyl before a deck dinner party here for my neighbors later this evening.
A sunny and HOT afternoon, but the Hall is always atmospheric no matter the time of day. Here then, from the movie soundtrack on 180 GOLD METALIC vinyl. Tubes and Horns for this one.

Good afternoon friends. After being a handyman yesterday with some work for a neighbor, I am being LAZY today and hangin' out in the music Hall. Got the R8 warmed up with the Forte' 4s.
Have not played this one in YEARS, but, it is interesting, as it is a Yamaha keyboard production. Young jazz artist playing the FX-1 ( in 1994). This instrument is a descendent of the GX-1 which was known for it's string sound in Stevie Wonder's 'Village Getto Land', He had two of them and sold one to Keith Emerson which can be seen in a number of ELP concert photos.
These instruments were based on the flagship Electone home organ with full 25 note pedal board. Here you go....

Oh, I took these photos the other day. Here are the two models side by side. These were NEVER in a home audio situation. They were (with many more of these) part of an electronic/pipe organ installation in a church.
Our organ company updated the speakers in the chambers and removed all the dusty Allisons. They just needed to be cleaned up after being behind church grills since 1987.

I decided at the suggestion of a long time friend, that I put my vintage pair of speakers with the vintage gear from Denmark. So, out of 'storage' I installed a MINT pair of Allison 130 3-way speakers. The 10" drivers have new surrounds and were re-doped.
Unaltered, and looking very nice in their REAL oak veneer. Dated 1987. They are on short tilt back stands. Just took this pic to share with you all.
Roy Allison's company was in Natick MA. and he is also responsible for getting Acoustic Research (AR) off the ground. Cleary the early 'acoustic suspension' = East Coast sound which these speakers were part of that movement
.
These units are a rare find these days, and have the famous Allison INVERTED 5" midrange and 1" tweeter.
I also have the Allison LC 120ies, a 2-way version with an 8" bass driver, also new surrounds. However, they are walnut vinyl covered.

Ok my friends.........GOOD MORNING from the North East. A sunny morning at that here in MA. To get my day started, I went into the LFMH library and pulled this one out. A Columbia/lLegacy release.
I too made a 'slight change' to the livingroom Bang and Olufsen 6500 series system. I will save that for my next post. Meanwhile, from what is spinning on the U-Turn custom at the moment...

Thank you MM and Paul for the compliments on the 'livingroom' setting. Yes, I decided to leave the light set on the mantle for the summer.
Lava lamps.......well, yes, those were usually lighted in full for our dinner parties in the WINTER. The radiant heat from 1100watts total is pretty incredible. All that liquid gets VERY hot! There are actually TWO Mathmos lamps from England in that display, they run on 220 with a special powersupply. Mathmos was 2 years AHEAD of the Lava Lamp Co. they started back in 1963, while Lava began in 1965.
OK, the new lamp for the audio 'corner' just arrived via Amazon at this later hour of 9pm. It is setup and I have photos from my current vinyl spin. NEXT POST
