  1. Thanks everyone. Yes, I should have exercised more patience for your replies. (new to the forum) Guess I will do what should be a pretty simple "experiment." Put one grill on and have one off, and just listen!! My primary concern is dust, dirt and mostly cobwebs. I live alone and don't do a real good job up in the corners of my room. A gal came over last weekend and was "kind" enough to point out a huge cobweb up by the ceiling. (made me feel real good!!!!!!!!!) I have to believe these would develop in the cones etc, so I would then be faced with either just wiping the cones off or even using a vacuum cleaner attachment. (eg the one with the brush on the end?) Hmmmm. Well, you all can tell by now that I am somewhat of a "worry wart." Once again, thanks for taking time to offer feedback. Take care, Joe
  2. Thanks again. Sounds like you "know your stuff" and I appreciate your feedback. All the best, Joe
  3. Thanks very much. Just trying to do a little "survey" on my own. I guess with 12 views and only1 reply the other 11 people are very very busy people, or simply think my question is not worthy of a reply. I did say "please" too! Oh well..............
  4. Thanks a lot. I don't have kids here or pets. However, I think I may put them back on. Again, thanks for responding. I didn't know it I was going to get a response ! Seems like a pretty "tight group" here, or I am just not "worthy yet"! All I wanted was a simple......"yes i use em, or No I dont" thats it.........hmmm maybe it was too much to ask............at least you took the time as I would if i could help you. thanks......... Joe
  5. I just want to know if most of you use speaker grills or not. I do not have pets, and live alone. (my kids live with their mom.) I have new Klipsch F3s and don't have the best ears in the world, but love them. Is dust and dirt a concern that is worth losing a litte sound by using grills" Grills off or on? (the other forum must feel my question is beneath them since I have had 5 or 6 views and not even a yes or no. Must be a very "tight knight group" that is hard to break into. Guess I am not worthy over there.) Thanks in advance for your opinions. Joe
  6. Dear God........That is a lot of stuff......I am an extreme "minimalist" to a fault. eg......gave my younger brother Pioneer 1974 model solid wood speakers (you know the type) with a Pioneer SX 1010......Then after my "upgrade" to Kenwood amp and Infinities, got sick of those and gave them to him. His garage is starting to look like your setup...........I have to keep my things to a minimum. Now, I realize I probably should have kept some of this stuff. Oh, also another Pioneer SX-737 to my Mom. Now I have a simple 2 channel setup with a Denon receiver and a pair of new Klipsch F3.........wondering if my old Pioneers would sound better! oh well.........hinsight is 20/20
  7. Just got my first pair of Klipsch (F3) Love them! I live alone, so my ex-wife isn't here to bug me about not using the speaker grills! Yes! (we battled over it years ago with my old Pioneers) Does it really improve sound? I don't have the "best audiophole ears" but think it MUST improve it somewhat. Also, do you think dust and dirt may be an issue that would warrant using the grills" Bottom line (OK i am getting to my question!!!!!!!!!!) Do you guys use the grills or not????????? Thanks a bunch. Joe
