  1. I bought a set today, I wish I could say they are going in my family room around my plasma, but this set was actually for my mom's house. I listened to them for a bit at BestBuy, and I thought they sounded really very good. FYI, I have an RF-82 system in my theater, but don't need quite that level of sound in the family room! I wish I could have bought another set, but I picked up four RB-10's for the theater instead!
  2. Ok folks, for discussion here..... I may be interested in possibly doing a 7.1 setup consisting entirely of the Klipsch RS-42. I currently own one set of these that I have mounted as surrounds, and am running a set of RF-82 fronts and an RC-62 center. I listened to these at lenght last weekend in the store where I bought them, and when paired with a sub, I thought they sounded astonishingly good. I thought they sounded better than many of the Klipsch bookshelf speakers, and even gave the RF-82's a run for their money. It was strange! I was listening to them only in two channel. It should be noted, I very rarely listen to my system in two channel stereo, if I listen to music I generally do 5 channel stereo. I want to know what experienced audiophiles think of this as a potential theater set up. I guess my biggest question would be how one of these would work as a center, since none of the speakers fire directly forward. I just think that three of these in the front (and four of them in the rear) would make an abolutely perfectly sonically matched setup. I just can't get over how good they sounded for straight music! I am thinking this might make a good "poor man's THX Ultra2" set up! K, now please, someone talk some sense into me! Oh, one other thing, with the money I would save doing this setup versus the 5 speaker setup I currently have, I could get all seven speakers AND another sub. Gimme your thoughts! ONE MORE THING, one of the salesmen at this store actually has this exact setup, and says he absolutely loves it for HT. He previously had the set up I currently have, and says he likes the seven RS-42's better.
  3. Optoma HD70, in my opinion it is the absolute best bang for the buck right now. It is the only DLP 720p projector right now for a sub $999 price. I own one, and absolutely love it!
  4. K, Avia and an SPL meter it is then.... I have STILL been toying with going back to the old speakers, I just really need to get everything calibrated right first...
  5. Hmmm, so I watched Cars tonight, and there were major differences in the sound coming coming out of the front speakers versus the center channel. It just didn't seem to match very well. Maybe it was setup on the receiver, I used the MaAcc setup feature on the Pioneer Elite receiver. Dunno, any suggestions? It was just very clearly different. I know that the fronts and center are different sizes and all that, but I have just never noticed such a big difference before. One of the salesmen at the store where I bought these said he has 7 RS-42s for his theater, so that there is a perfect match all the way around. Anyone have any opinion on this?
  6. Well, I had actually tried two of my older receivers. I had a Sony STR-DB940 that has been a great receiver, it shared its amps and chassis with nicer ES level stuff at the time. I used that one for a very short period of time, then hooked up a pioneer (non-elite) that I had that had component video switching. The dealer I bought the speakers from was running them with a Pioneer Elite VSX-53tx, which is an older Elite receiver, but it sounded great. I got it home and hooked up last night, and it sounds much better. I still have some work to do on set up, but it was clear in my animusic pipe dreams clip that the sound was instantly better. I am going to hang on to these for now, and will probably add another set of RS-42 surrounds for the rear. I auditioned those at length on Saturday too, and cannot beleive how good those little speakers sound. They are fantastic. These speakers LOOK great too. They actually match the Elite receiver quite well!
  7. Well guys, I went and talked to the dealer today that I bought these from, and listened to them again in his store. They sounded great, I think the receiver they were using sounded different than the one I have been using. I actually ended up buying a similar AVR there, and will give that a shot and see how they sound. Also, I could not beleive how good the RS42's sound. If these sound better with the new AVR, I will probably buy another set of RS42's so that I can do 7.1. So, as of right now I am holding off on selling them. Wish me luck!
  8. Hopefully it has been clarified. I didn't state the warranty was transferable. I did state they are under warranty. I did assume that if I give my receipt and warranty card to the buyer, that they could register the warranty with Klipsch, which I have not done. Apparently that is not the case, as has been adequately pointed out.
  9. You got me there.... I stole them from Phase 4 in Idaho Falls, ID. If you want, I can give you the serial numbers and you can call them and let them know I have them, but only if you split the reward money with me. =)
  10. No problem guys, I can do what I can to sell them elsewhere. I felt like he mush have put that out there because I am going back to the old brand. Folks have been nothing but nice here, and I did have success selling my RF52 setup here in the interest of giving higher end klipsch's a try. Kinda feel like he didn't need to interject his thoughts into my for sale thread, but it is an open forum. Might have better success on ebay. I took offense and shouldn't have. So, maybe I should move on through! =+)
  11. K, do I know you? I think I remember you from elementary school.... that's right! You're that kid! The know it all boy who doesn't mind his own business! Ha ha, boy have I missed you! Glad you showed up, right now! I see you paid attention in reading comprehension class, it looks like you are about as good at that as I am spelling and grammar. Maybe I should clarify for all those that didn't pay attention, I said they carry the full factory warranty. They are not B-stock, and are currently under warranty. Move on through friend, crash someone else's party.
  12. As before, not only do I have a restocking fee, I can only get store credit. That doesn't work out for me, as I will be going back to a brand that store does not carry. Thanks! Now, someone buy this KILLER audio system!!
  13. Folks, I recently bought an RF-52 setup that I wasn't completely happy with, and decided to upgrade to this set up I am listing here. I am a longtime fan of another brand, and had been very impressed with the Klipsch line up. However, I have decided to migrate back the "old sound" I know and love. These Klipsch speakers are fantastic, they just sound different than what I am used to. The RF-52 setup I sold to a member here who was very happy with the transaction, and a quick search of my prior posts would show you who that member is. So, to the meat of the matter at hand. These speakers are brand new, just out of the box. They were purchased from an authorized dealer here in Idaho just two weeks ago, and carry the full factory warranty. I have all the original packaging (it is all still in the same room as the speakers!) and they will ship like they originaly arrivied. They are as new, absolutely immaculate. I can't stress enough how perfect they are. Prices are as follows: RF-82's- $749 RC-62 $299 RS-42's $299 Buyer will pay shipping and insurance, and I will ship via UPS or Fed Ex at buyers discretion. Let me know!
  14. It wasn't really a great dealer experience either. Would rather buy from the other one.
  15. Large restocking fee, and they don't have the speakers I want in stock, another dealer does...they will only give me a store credit is all.
