  1. I had a problem like this when setting up somebody else's computer that also had a Klipsch PM4.1 setup. The problem was with the soundcard. The wiring to the front jack of the computer case wasn't sufficient. The sound card came with extra wires that connect individually to the motherboard. After checking the MB manual and sound card manual to find out which went where, it all worked perfectly.
  2. I've used an old receiver for a while to drive the 4 speakers. The connections on my control pod are damaged, and I can't find a CP-1, so this has been working for me for some time. It lacks the subwoofer bass of course, but otherwise it works well.
  3. Get one of those 1/8" (ie mini jack) to Red & White RCA adapter cables. That's what we use to hook our computer up to the stereo system.. it should work the other way around, too, just look for one that has the female 1/8" end or get a female-female 1/8" adapter to go on the end.
  4. Hey guys. The amp on my old Klipsch 4.1 is messed up. I had damaged the connections on the original control pod while rearranging furniture a while ago, and I really need to get a new control pod. I've called Klipsch, and they say that they have no CP-1s, have no idea if they'll ever make more, and have no idea if they'll ever make a different replacement for the 4.1 pod. The guy told me that they're readily available on ebay.. but I've been looking for several days and haven't found one that doesn't come with an entire set of speakers + sub (and a hefty shipping cost!). Does anybody here know of any online stores that still carry them? I haven't been successful in my searches. Anybody have an old CP-1 that they no longer use? I'd be more than happy to buy a used one, if I get the chance. Any help on getting me connected with a CP-1 would be greatly appreciated! I can't wait to get my 4.1 system back in action with an even better preamp
