  1. Thanks for the info and the greeting. I wasn't so worried about the ability of 120w to make enough noise, I was just double checking to make sure I wouldn't need to add in an addition power amp to avoid underpowering some rather large units, the RMS given on the site is only a max, not a range. But anyway, it seems that isn't a problem. Also about the weak bass comment, I assume that is in regard to just the stereo speakers right, not including the sub out? I do plan on adding a sub as well, most likely an RT-12d.
  2. Would that receiver, at 120 watts per channel, properly drive those speakers, or would they be damaged by underpowering?
  3. I plan on getting a home theather consisting of a pair of RF-82's, an RC-62, a pair of RS-52's, and a pair of RB-61's. I was initially going to go with the RW-12d for my sub, but upon doing some reasearch I came across the Velodyne DLS-5000R. It features a bigger driver, 15", plus it runs off of 600 watts RMS, and I have seen it online for $570, where my local Klipsch dealer sells the RW-12d for $600. Anybody have an opinions on which is a better choice, knowing that the system will be mainly used for music, but will see plenty of action from movies and games?
  4. Any opinions at all? I have also been considering the flatscreen solution speakers of both the Synergy and Reference lines as the would save me some money, but I'm not sure how much they would compromise the sound of the system.
  5. I'm saving up this semester to buy some new speakers, and I have a couple combinations in mind and want to know what would be better for me. The first system I have been considering is the Synergy line, and is a pair of F-3's, a C-3 center, 4 S-3 surrounds, and 2 Sub-12's. That would be around $3,000, and am also considering an equally priced Reference line system consisting of RF-82's, a RC-62 center, a pair of RS-52's, and one RW-12d (I'm also curious as to how this sub compares to the RSW-10d). I'm sure most would readily suggest the Reference line over the Synergy, but I figured the Synergy, particulary the subwoofers (down-firing instead of front-firing), might preform better because the system will be in my dorm (I don't the exact dimension, but probably something around 15x20, probably smaller) in a frat house next year, so ideal placement of the components may not be possible because there will probably a lot of stuff around the room. I just wanted to see what you guys thought, and any suggestions you have are welcome as well. The system will largely be used for music by the way, but it will be used for movies and games fairly often as well.
