Looking for a pair of rs-3's in decent condition; decided to ask the experts on what I should pay....
I guess I'll need stands too, any suggestions on some cheepies?
Thanks
I got rear-ended tonight, car is probably totalled, so now I have the money for a denon and some more klipsch's whooo. -
I will use 6.5's in the front doors, and 6x9's in the rear seat side
panels. I have a very nice adire audio koda 12" in a sealed box in my
ht right now that I could put in the trunk. It is a dodge stealth,
hatchback. There are tweeters up ontop of the dash not in use after I
bought my current headunit. It's a $150 kenwood about a yr old. I guess
I was hoping to spend around 1000 on the new equipment, but that seems
unlikely. CD-R's are the current selection. As funds are low, the whole
system probably will not be purchased at one time. Thanks

I'm considering putting money into the car, and was wondering what
you guys have. I can go to the store and have some kid tell me how
loud__ can play, but id rather have something that doesn't make me
cringe after listening to some Boston on the klipsch's. ThanksAnyone put some klipsch drivers in their car?

The reason I was interested in a nice eq is because I think it would
help. I'm in a dorm room. The standing waves are so bad that I can set
a test tone, walk across the room and easily hear every node.
Doing in room frequency response from my listening position with a db
meter shows me the nastiness of the situation on paper, and I don't
have the choice to move the speakers anywhere else or glue acoustic
stuff to the walls. Am I wrong that if I have a 10 db peak at say 60 hz
that with an eq I couldn't help that "problem spot"? My current
receiver is limited to large/small settings and a bass/treble knob, and
it just doesn't cut it. I guess my only other question is,
Am I wasting money trying in this room, and should I wait to buy a nice
reciever until I have a decent place for it.
Thanks (I'm also having second thoughts on the
idea of possibly half-a$$ing this entire thing and wanting all new
stuff again in 2 years, maybe I'll wait till funds allow for some
belle's......)

Tell me I should buy this. Then I'll stop thinking about it.

came across dakmart.com, seems like a decent enough place. What do you guys think of some of these and their asking price:
denon avr-1506 $232 http://dakmart.com/itemdetails/31034/173/
denon avr-1706 $319 http://dakmart.com/itemdetails/30628/173/
denon avr-1905 $352 http://dakmart.com/itemdetails/16459/173/
Thanks for your help

Hi
I'm looking at upgrading from my old phillips receiver and
want to spend the least amount I can whilst retaining the highest audio
quality I can get. I don't really want any kind of video conversion,
internet jazz, ipod etc. I want the cheapest receiver with 7.1 and
either a solid auto setup, or a really nice built in eq that I can do
manually with a tone generator and db reader. Second option seems
cheaper to me. Oh, and enough umph to drive my reference 3 speakers
LOUD. Thanks -
My current rears are just terrible, and in the process of looking for
new ones, I decided that my current mains, rf-15's, would do fine as
rears, and I wouldn't mind having larger mains. So now I'm looking for
mains that will go along with an rc-3 center and rf-15 rears. Room is
pretty small, I have a sub that would be happy in a room 10x the size,
and money is pretty tight. Thanks for any sugestions.
