  1. No I can't move the speakers back because of the triple stacked 2x6's holding a beam up. I can move the seats up about 2' not much more I'm going to set bean bag chairs out for the kids. How would they sound if I put them in front of the door towards the screen which I think you put them in the diagram. Will it give me any true surround effect ? It is a 7.1 and I have never had a 7.1 to see how it sounds. Thanks for the diagram it helps in explaining.
  2. I think I am going to stick with what I have heard and like, towers. The other problem I have found is my surrounds. They are 16' back even with the main viewing area. the problem is I have a side entry which at the 16' mark. I'm putting a tray in to hide the ductwork and wiring. Above the sitting area will be the projector. I wanted to put the surrounds at ear level that can't happen unless i move the speakers 2' forward but i think that will effect the sound the other option is to try to squeeze them between the door frame and the tray. Any opinions.
  3. I am getting ready to start framing my theater room. The skinny my screen is going to be 92" and my room is 10' wide, 22' deep and 8.5' tall. I need to make a decision now weather to use in wall speakers and frame now for them behind the screen or put towers in the corners. I like the idea of the speakers being hidden but do they sound as good as a good reference tower system. Nobody has any in walls where I can here them in my area. I am putting a 7.1 in do to the length of the room. The sub will not be in wall. The in walls will probably be the series 5. And here that Klipsch will becoming out with a true center in wall. I would like to now when that would be? I just need a few opinions to help on this decision. Thanks.
  4. I have heard the Synergys', they do sound great. But I heard that they coming out with a new referance series. I want to know what they are.
  5. Has anybody heard about any of the new speakers coming out? Does anbody have any specs yet? I heard that the new stuff is coming out in Sept. I also heard that Samsung and Klipsch are teaming up and putting out an 5.1 box unit. Does anybody have any info. Thanks.
  6. I 've been alot about you guy's say about speaker packages. I thought that I had picked out what I wanted, but I'm reading alot of specs and I like the RF-63 and the RC-64. All the reviews and people I personaly have talked to said these are the best. The sound is unreal. When I am done constructing my theater room I want to put these speakers in there. My problem is I think the room is to small for what I want. The room is going to be 10' wide x 22' deep x 8.5' high. There will three rows of seating. I wanted to make the system a 7.1, RF-63, RC-64, RS-42,and Rb-61. Sub unknown. The reasoning for the RS-42 is that I don't want the speakers to stick way off the wall. I know that the speakers don't match but they are surrounds, does this matter that much. I do like the specs better on the RB-61 than the RB-81. And again we run into physical demensions on the rears. Can someone help me with this problem. Thanks.
  7. I don't worry about the best in the future I am looking at the now. I ask simple questions to build my present system. When this system is done I am tapping out or the wife will kill me. The only way I would be able to get anything else would be get a new wife. Then I could start over by telling the new wife that the equipment is "Soooo out dated".
  8. Thanks Gil. You bring up all the things that I was thinking about. This will save me money by buying what will work now and still give me a great picture. And when the time comes and the technology matches the price that I want to pay I can do so. Plus by then some other new movie playing gizmo will come out and that will go on my wish list.
  9. I get all samsung equipment at cost. Does anyone have any info about the DVD-HD1080P7? Does it compare to the OPPO? And yes I can not wait until the new FP-T6374 hits the stores. It is very high on my list.
  10. Is anybody using an upconverting dvd player? I want to know if it is worth it and if really works.
  11. Some thing you maybe interested in and mind you some people fon on this is a Vizio. At first I was not interested in a off brand but I went and looked at one of these and I loved it. The specs are almost dead to any other 50" plasma at 720p and the price is only $1600 at bj's. When I up grade my living room tv I am going to this plasma. They even had a 60" for $3000. The 50" had top ratings in 2006 at ces and the 60" had top ratings 2007 ces. Go check out there web at vizio.com or some ratings at cnet.com.
  12. I had seen the slx's at Hhgregg. They had the set up in a 5.1 configeration same woofer you have and 5 slx's. So when you want to get a new center you can put the slx in place. Do you have a flat panel? If you do these speakers mount on the wall or on stands.
  13. What you may want to do is put the Quintets in the back and sides and put the synergy slx in the front. I listened to them at the store once and they are very niceand at $700 for the pair you can't go wrong.
  14. It sounds to me that you are putting together the same system I am. What type of system are you putting together 5.1 or 7.1? Because that makes a big differance in pricing. If you go with a 7.1 this will help. Purchase the RB-51, RS-42, RC-52 and RW-10d this will give you your 5.1 and sound pretty strong. This will be about the same price as the cinema 10. Then when you have extra cash purchase the RF-52 and make it a 7.1 by moving the RB-52 in the back. This is awsome sound for the size room you have. It will also shake house I personnally like the RW-10d for bassy music. As for your receiver Denon is good receiver not at the top of my list( yammie RV-X2700) but the denon AVR-2807. The price of the 5.1 system is about $2500 a little over but you won't be dissatisfied. Don't buy on line the warranties are voided. The trick is when you decide on what you want to buy go check it out at the store make friends with a sales rep. don't buy keep going back once a weekfor awhile listening to same stuff over and over again and talk to the same guy all the time and keep saying you still saving money to buy your set up. Soon enough he will ask how you have saved and you tell him a low number. Then he says let me talk to my boss they always come back with a price any between 10-20% then you can save off of pitty. It's said but true. And it works a long process but works. Then you hit budget. Always buy refrence.
  15. I've been reading more and more about tv's and all the new tvs coming out. I'm not impressed with the technical specs that I am reading. You may get a 65" plasma tv with 1080p for nearly $10,000 but with contrast ratio of 3000:1. Or you can get a 63" plasma tv with 720p and a10000:1 contrast ratio for only $5000. Am I losing it or am I wrong on this. Pricing aside on this. But it seems to me Your going to get better picture with the 720p. The line resolution is not there but the human won't be able to detect the differance. And the colors are going to be promonant with the 720p. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this I'm trying to make the final decisions on the components for my theater room and I don't want to waste money. I did decide on speakers rf-52, rc-52, rs-42, rb-51, and 2-rw-10d backed by a yamaha rx-v2700.
