  1. How close are you to I-95? I have a friend coming through there in a few weeks?
  2. The T/S parameters were as described by GordonW of the AK forums. I don't know if he hangs here much, but is is one of the more respected speaker gurus on AK. The drivers are on a FedEx truck and on the way. Should be a fun little project....
  3. Thought I'd just throw this up somewhere..... I'm told that the E-2 as pictured has the 33uF cap across the woofer, and that the E-1 is lacking this cap, but otherwsie identical. Oh and according to a knowledgable fellow on a nother audio forum...." the Heresy woofer may work better in a back-horn than the original SP12B. The Qts of the Heresy woofer is only around .4 or .45 or so, while the SP12B has a Qts of closer to .7... lower Qts usually means better horn-loading..."
  4. Dropping by for a quick fly by....I've just closed out a deal to trade for a set of Heresy components, which are to the best of my knowledge.... K-77 tweeters with horns, K-55-V squawkers with the K-700 horns, and Heresy woofers, along with the stock X-overs. The organ recipient will be a set of BOTL Ev Aristocrats. I was kinda curious to see what an upgrade to these might sound like, since the full range EV SP-12B didn't do much for me. Now it looks like I will be building a mini-set of K-horns to compare against my full size ones. Anyone have any thoughts about how these should be crossed over? Should I stick with the SP-12B down low or use the Heresy woofer instead? Anything else I should consider? Cheers!
  5. The seller's out of the country until this week, so she might have made a trip for nothing. The seller seems interested in the Forte II from previous experience, and because of downsizing issues. Hopefully we can come to some kind of agreement....I've been looking for a pair of CW's for awhile... Thanks...
  6. How would you contrast and compare the sound of the two sets of speakers? I am a bit ashamed to admit that I really haven't listed to my Forte's much, because when I initially compared tham against my Chorus I's, I liked the chorus I's better. However, I'm going to set them up tonight in an A/B situation with my Altec Model 19's....Should be fun....
  7. Hi, I'm looking to trade a pair of Forte II's , WO finish, sequential serial number for a pair of 1973 "Vertical" Cornwalls, C-WO-15, 2L947/8. I am thinking the Forte's, probably a cosmetic 8.5/10, might be worth $500-550 verses $800 that the fellow wants for his Cornwalls. Is this in the ballpark? I was thinking of throwing in an Altec 416-8A woofer (Yeah I know, wrong forum, but he's an Altec nut too) . Horse trading opinions requested... Thanks,
  8. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ele/274657846.html Ad says $400, but he's offered me $300, pickup by Sat... Pix are here.... http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=100091
  9. Oh yeah, by the way, I'm in Raleigh, NC...Couldn't resist a "Blue Light" shot. I love this receiver!!!
  10. Actually it's a Sansui 9090DB...Also absolutely mint condition. Only flaw is one small chip on the bottom of the L sidepanel at the rear. Little putty/stain marker and it'll be flawless...It even still has the warning plastic tag on the Dolby FM knob to turn the switch to off when not listening to Dolby FM...[] That and the HPM 150's for $450....I done good I think.... However, the HPM 150's are going to a fellow addict friend of mine in trade for a Yamaha B-70
  11. Well, just an update for anyone who cares....I picked up the Chorus I's including Boxes, all the packing material, original brochure and original bill of sale for $500. The speakers are absolutely perfect, without any obvious flaws. The included picture shows the gear haul for the week, all for less than a grand. (and yes, there are two of each of the speakers...) Today I picked up a pair of Forte II's with a little veneer staining and a couple of small areas near the base of one of the boxes that has some slight veneer separation...$250..Oh yeah, the grill cloth was shot, but I got the frames which are undamaged, and the logos, also undamaged. I will refabric the grills tomorrow....Guess I am now "Klipsch-rich"...[]...
  12. Well, e-mailed the Forte seller back earlier this afternoon....Sold. So I suppose it comes down to Chorus speakers for $500 or Heresy's for $250. How much bigger are the Chorus? By the way, what's the usual size limit for attachments? Cheers! A.A.
  13. Newbie to the Klipsch Forums, and looking to pick up a pair of entry level Klipsch Speakers to go with a H/K A300 Tube amp that's on the way. According to the seller, sticker on back says For II WO, they are 36 inches high and 16 wide. Also, someone locally is selling a pair of Heresy's from 1978 that have had the woofers replaced within the past year with OEM components from Klipsch. Cost $250. Also selling a pair of Chorus speakers for $500. I'll try to attach a picture of the mystery boxes, but would welcome suggestions. I've been leaning toward the Herseys because of the smaller size and lower cash outlay.... TIA.... Cheers! Analog Addict
