  1. Actually, the Klipschorn's kind of sound like giant RF-7. The sound is kind of a like but the Klipshorn has a bigger airy sound, little smoother from the wider disperse of the larger horn. The RF-7 has it with just a tad more detail and is more forward direct at you, more in your face but still smooth and I like the sound of the RF-7. The titanium in the RF-7, I can see why some might say it's a little brighter than the Klipshorn Phenolic but I like both, there are trade offs you have to except for each and I like both very much. The RF-7 have it for more bass punch that I like too. The Klipschorn's have the huge wide room filling sound that I've never heard any speaker do. The RF-7 image a strong center focus point, the Klipschorn image wall to wall room filling. The RF-7 have a very large room filling sound, just more direct path to do it, as the Klipschorn's are a wider airy-er room filling sound, not as direct at you. I like them both so it's a hard pick between the two, you would have to narrow down the compromises. I'm going to keep them both! Hope this helps in explaining the differences!
  2. And good luck selling your baby! Hmmmm, maybe you shouldn't let it go?? I don't think I could for 7.1 HT.
  3. Yep, first time for anything I guess. It was listed on Audiogon forums that some got the problems I did, and it still happens from time to time but McIntosh takes care of the problem, lives up to their customer support with everyone I've read, including mine. To be honest, yes i did love the build quality of the McIntosh and it's looks, it's what sold me on getting it. It is built like a tank, but to be honest and I'm not sure I should share this, I wasn't taken by the sound as I thought I would be for the price, yes it's there in the build quality but I had other equipment that I was more impressed with for the sound for less, but I've sinced learned that the McIntosh is more of an icon thing like Rolex is for watches. Don't get me wrong, it sounded great, but I had something else that went with my setup that I liked better. Sorry, don't mean to sound negative because the MA-6900 is still a fine tank gear. I do love the blue meters on it, and the looks. I sold mine after I had it for about six months. Just wasn't sure if I should say that. It is very hard to find the build quality of the McIntosh these days, search and you will find no one doing it like McIntosh! I went from multi-channel to 2-channel only and still find 2-channel more pleasing than multi-channel even for HT. So see..... I'm different than the norm I guess! I'll only do 2-channel now. I think multi-channel is over-rated. Sorry again, there I go. The McIntosh MA6900 has a very strong following, you won't have any problem selling that baby, except trying to part with it like I did, was hard to let it go because I did like the looks and hefty build quality.
  4. Thank you very much for the welcome. Love the forum here, lots of interesting things to learn and share. Nice!
  5. Are they dinged up? I can't see from the photos, guess my computer screen isn't showing that. Guess I'll have to check on the bigger screen at work. If they are dinged up, I wouldn't be interested because I like mine in mint condition but they aren't local to me so it counts me out all together.
  6. I wish these were local to me, I think I would buy them for a second pair! I LOVE the RF-7! You will not have any problem selling them. They will go fast! Don't forget to post to your http://craigslist.com for your local area, it's a very good place to sell to your local area. I buy more from craigslist than I ever bother with ebay because it's much safer. I've been scammed 3 times on ebay after very careful with positive ratings so I've been scared off from ebay, so post on craigslist for local for people like me that are too scared to use ebay anymore!
  7. Hello Good People - I have owned a brand new pair of 2002 Klipschorn's that I bought 5 years ago and have been very happy with them, for some odd ball reason I was able to talk my self into buying a brand new pair of Klipsch RF-7 from a deal I could not resist. Strangly I had heard the RF-7 from several dealer outlets over the years and did not like them and pre-judged them harshly. Was I ever WRONG! All I have to say is that Klipsch really knows what they are doing! I'm a BIG Klipsch FAN for the rest of my life, I'm hooked! I love the LIVE and REAL sound I get from my Klipsch speakers! No other speakers give me the goose-bumps that my RF-7 and Klipschorn's give me with such involving emotion that Klipsch gives in my 2-channel music. I am hooked for life! I just wanted to say THANK YOU Klipsch for giving us such a wonderful line of speakers and keep the good work up! Very nice that Klipsch also provides a forum for us too! Thank You - Thank You
  8. Yep, the MA6900 reg list price runs about $5000.00 but our Mac dealer generally sells it for about $4200.00 to $4500.00 depending on your audio relationship with him. I purchased mine brand new for $4200.00 but as my luck would have it, I always have some sort of bad luck, mine had some problems and had to be returned to McIntosh, but McIntosh honor with a brand new replacement to solve the issues. McIntosh gave me excellent customer support via the McIntosh dealer.
