  1. I have recently acquired a pair of Forte II, and I used a tube amp to drive it. The first time I played it, evertything seems fine. Very smooth high and convincing mid-range. The bass is not punchy as I thought, but it has good detail. The bass part could be due to my amp. Anyway, the second night that I played it, it has a loud pop from the left speaker in the middle of the music, then everyhing is ok for the rest of the evening. The third time when I played it, it has several loud arcing noise from the same left speaker during the system warm up period. About 5 min. from cold start. I disconnected the speaker. The first thing I suspect is my amp. I did a thorough investigation on the amp, and it seems ok. Does any one has similart experience, and know the root cause? It may save me sometime when I open up the speaker to investigate. Thanks, Anthony
  2. I've seen this link before, but still unable to figure it out. Forte II was manufactured from 1989 until 1996, so the date code suppose to be DOY Y2Y1 ####. How does it translate into SN:51176 and 51177? Thanks, Anthony
  3. Can some one help to intepret the manufacturing date of a pair of Forte II that I recently acquired? I checked the posts on the forum and it does not seems to apply to the SN of my speaker. S/N 51176 and 51177 Just for the sake of completness, additional information: P/N 09000531111 F II oak oil W/O 9904 Thanks, Anthony
