I recently received a pair of RF-7's and one of them was damaged in shipping. The front black panel, motherboard came off of the cabinet and cracked in two between the two drivers. I called Klipsch and since this is considered part of the cabinet, they do not have replacement parts for it, they suggested a furniture repair shop. I was wondering if you think it would affect the quality of the sound if the motherboard was glued back together and then glued back onto the cabinet. Or if you can come up with other options. I have notified the shipper of the damage and will be working with them to resolve this.

I just checked out Craigslist Tallahassee and they are listed there for $550 there is another listing for Heresy speakers with a sub for $500.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go check out the Quartets. Major computer crash and long time at vet etc really messed up my weekend. I live in N. Florida. I saw the Quartets on the Tallahassee Craigslist under garage sale. It just stated Klispch speakers so I sent e mail to get more info and they turned out to be the Quartets. I want to check out the RF-7's if I can find them but will still be trying to learn about the different models and family of Klispch speakers so that when my wife gives me ok I can be well informed about what to get. But if a great deal comes along, I don't want to miss it either.

When you say placement sensitive, you're talking about how far from the walls, furniture and such? If they are placed wrong what would they sound like? Muddy?

I'm new to this forum and have learned much in the short time here but it leaves me with more questions. I have a question about the Quartets, model # QUR WO. I found a pair for sell, the asking price is $550 and I was told that they are in great condition. Is that a decent price? What can you tell me about those speakers? How do you compare the different series of speakers? Like the RF vs the Quartets vs the Heresy, etc. Thanks in advance for the info.
