  1. Appreciate that. I'm checking with Godataloss about his. Fingers crossed.
  2. Thanks , but the ad is expired. Plus, apparently no shipping to US.
  3. Hey Godataloss, K-600s are very rare on Ebay. I recently nabbed a newly listed pair (I think literally within minutes of the listing!) because I didn't want to lose them. I paid $100 each plus $20 each shipping (with K55 drivers.) $240 for the pair. Not sure how realistic that is for future listings (except maybe yours?) I'm still looking for (1) more K-600. You interested? Dave
  4. I have both '76 and '84 Cornwalls. Scientifically, our "audio memory" isn't quite as precise as we'd all like to believe, but . . . . I haven't sat mine side-by-side to A/B them but my go-to demo record (Speakers Corner "Crime Of The Century") sounds really excellent through both. The '84 has a smooth plastic/resin K601 midrange horn and K-57 bolt-on driver and B-3 crossover while the '75-'76 have slightly rougher textured metal K-600 threaded horn and K55 screw-on driver. But again, listening separately to the same record they both sounded great. My '76 have Dean G's "B" crossover, the '84 have Crites' B-3. Both have Crites' replacement T120 tweeters. For the ease of possible future upgrades I would go with the '75s.
  5. 08/02/2017 Still waiting on response to private message. Anyone else? I need (1) K-600 metal mid horn for Cornwall. With or without driver.
  6. Greetings Mighty Favog, Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about the CornScala thing but with 4 speakers to do and despite the good things I've heard that's pretty much a commitment you can't turn back from. I think the money would be a little rich, too. I'm handy enough with a router so it's something I'll keep in the back of my mind.
  7. Hi mungkiman, Yeah, so was I. The metal K-600 horn has a threaded mouth to accept the screw-on K-55 driver (and the new A-55 from Crites.) The newer plastic/resin K-601 horns in the mid '80s and up Cornwalls are not threaded and the drivers are attached to a rear flange with 4 screws. I've already got Crites' tweeters and I wanted to try the A-55 midrange drivers which are supposed to be really smooth and "better" sounding but learned they won't fit on my '84 and '85 Corn-horns. And apparently there isn't an adapter available so I have to switch out the horns for K-600s. It's turning out to be like finding a Democrat that voted for Trump. There's probably a few out there but good luck. Now I hurry up and wait. Dave
  8. 07/08/2017 Hi folks. I know I'm pretty much in dreamland here but I need to buy at least (1) K-600 midrange horn for a Cornwall upgrade project (with or without the K-55 driver.) I recently lucked into (1) on Ebay and need the mate. (No, I'm not gonna breed Cornwall horns.) Actually I'd like a total of (3) K-600 and will have 2 or 4 plastic K-601 with K-57 bolt-on drivers to trade or sell. I plan to eventually get 4 of the A-55 midrange drivers from Bob Crites but they can't be installed on the newer K-601 plastic horns, only the metal 600. Please help keep this poor, decrepit, retired soul off a barstool and parked instead in front of his beloved Cornwalls. Bless you! davemac
  9. 08/31/07 Wowie Zowie! I agree, nice job! I've already written to Dean and Chris Munson about what they can supply. I really want to go with complete networks rather than just the caps but I'll have to see how scary the dollars are. I am prepared to dig reasonably deep for "the boys" since we've pretty much grown up together and I plan on the three us sticking around for a while. Thanks to everyone for the info and tips. I'm out for the long weekend. Have a good one! Dave
  10. 08/30/07 Man, that's twice now that I've misspelled Mike's last name. So, so sorry! I truly am not worthy! Dave
  11. 08/30/07 Thanks for the tips, "Brrrrmont." It can't be THAT cold up there yet?! I don't have anywhere near the electronic knowledge to pick and choose amongst the various quality components so I'll probably just get a kit from Bob Crites or Dean Wescott. (I'm not TOO spastic with a soldering iron.) I'll stick my head inside one this weekend and poke around a bit and take a look at the gaskets. Mike Coltin sent me a peek at The House Of Klipsch. When I consider the dinky room my stuff is in, well, all I can say is, "I'm not worthy!" Dave
  12. 08/30/07 Thanks Don! Just the stuff I was looking for. Dave
  13. 08/29/07 Hi everyone! Dave here. I'm new to the forum but not so new to Klipsch. I bought my Cornwalls in the summer of '75 and have been dusting off the woofers with Mac power ever since. First with a 40watt receiver, then a MC2100, and nowadays a 2205. Earlier today I was relating to Mike Coltin (Hi Mike!) how I've begun to upgrade my vinyl playback (don't have my Scout or Rega yet but gimme time) and now they're woofin' and tweetin' like never before. BUT....Some months ago my brother (who remains Klipsch-less, poor benighted soul) mentioned a crossover mod that I should look into. So I did some Googling and Yahooing (in that order), found and looked through your forum, nodded my head and said "Hmmm..." at the appropriate times, then e-mailed Klipsch to find out if y'all were full of crap. (No offense. Seems to me that a lot of posters on OTHER high-end audio forums have a serious case of Emperor's New Clothes when it comes to fixing what generally ain't broke.) But not in this case, no-no-no. Mike assured me that the crossover mod was the real deal and that every single one of you were the finest, most upstanding pillars of the anonymous e-mail community. Really. So, here's the nut. Could one or more of you fine folks please clue me in to where and how I can buy the caps and such to upgrade my crossovers? ....(I said I'll be there in a minute! ...... Well then, another minute! Jeez, beanie-weenies and cole slaw -- big deal.)....Sorry. I've heard the name Bob Crites tossed around(?) He seems to be pretty well respected in this regard. Any contact info would be appreciated. (Oh, I didn't look too deeply into all of the site details -- how do you send private messages? I don't post my e-mail address here do I? For instance, I hadn't noticed any contact info for Bob Crites earlier. Gotta run. (Don't want the cole slaw to wilt.) I'll check back a little later.
