  1. I may not be correct about that, Marvel. Maybe that was just because Klipsch started offering more mainstream products. Anyway, I think I will go pick these up tomorrow. I know that these are speakers that folks either love or hate with passion. I hope I am one of the former,.and that I enjoy them as much as I have the Quartets. One thing is for sure, they are a lot more sensitive than the Quartets, so I will probably have to find a suitable amp
  2. Thank you for the response, speakerfritz. Can anyone comment on the sound of the 2000ish product? I have heard that quality declined in the early 90s. Any word on pairing La Scalas with Quartets? Thanks!
  3. Hey guys, A local has listed a pair of black La Scalas in very good condition. He claims to have bought them new around 10 years ago. I have not seen or listened to them, so I cannot comment on how they sound. I do know that they have AL3 crossovers and the K-55-M horn. They have been driven with a modern receiver, but I do not know the details. Can anyone advise me of a target purchase price in today's economy. (Yes, $100 would be nice.) Assume they are in very good condition with stock components. I am currently running black Quartets and am curious as to how they would pair with La Scalas. Thanks!
  4. Hey guys, Its been a while! I wondered if anyone here has any tips for caring for rubber speaker surrounds. I ordered some 303 Aerospace Protectant a while back and was thinking about using a little on my TC 2000's NBR surround. Do you think that would be a bad idea? I was also thinking about using it one the surrounds of my KG2.2V. Didn't want to do anything that might harm them. I'd like to make sure they last as long as possible! Thanks!
  5. I noticed that the accordian surrounds on my 91 quartet woofers appear to have some mild deterioration. It is only apparent where the surround meets the cone. It looks like some of the laquer has come off. If anyone knows what I am talking about and has some advice for preserving these things, please let me know. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow. Thanks!
