I was on row 3, center for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers in North Little Rock Saturday night. Awesome concert. If you like them, Go, if you can get tickets. Regina Spektor opened, and I hadn't heard her music before, but she's a good candidate for horns and tubes.
SSH
ssh,
Not a Petty fan but it was a good show. My seats were not as good as yours though.

Nothing like the feeling that you have zero need for "speaker envy" or to read reviews of new loudspeakers. One you have K'horns (or Jubs, ya freaks) you're done.
Dave
Mallette,
No "speaker envy" here. Probably more like "amp envy".

docsg,
You made me go look for my #'s.
New to the forum--have enjoyed reading many of the posts for the last two hours (it's now almost 1:00 AM in my time zone).
My question is this: I have a mint set of Cornwalls C-WO, Serial Nos. 7N506 and 7N507. I bought them new in the mid 70's (I think) and they were fresh out of the factory in Hope. I bought them from a friend of mine who had just opened a dealership in Little Rock, AR. Can someone tell me approximately when they were manufactured? Thank you--

Seti,
Is marriage out of the question for you in order to "work my way into the Sim's family"? Me thinks the secret recipe is a rub.
-
Buddy,
Heh, yeh. I've been to Doe's in Fayetteville, but not LR. I hear where you are coming from.
Would love for you to be there, Thurs, but you can sure take a rain check. We'll be doing it again.
Sort of turning into a ritual.
When Seti shows up the waitress asks him if he'll have the usual.
Daddy Dee,
I would like to add to my comment. Just because you are man enough to eat at Does in Little Rock does not mean you are man enough to eat at Does in Greenville, MS. However the food is good at both locations, especially if you like thick steaks and hot tomales.
-
Daddy Dee,
I would like to meet you and some forum members however I doubt I can make it Thursday. I know Sims is the best around Little Rock. Please let me know when you plan the next feeding. I have yet to go to the Sims on Roosevelt Road. I guess if you are man enough to eat at Does in Little Rock you can handle Roosevelt Road.
Buddy

A friend at work has donated to me a Marantze Amp model Sg7 (model # could be incorrect) 120/240 volts. What is this animal? Maybe a trotline weight?

........Come home from work in a great mood ready to rock out and threw in a heavy one.
It was like my Klipsch chewed it up and spit it out as if to say "You gotta feed me something better than that crap!"

I think this will be a great thread! Sorry if there's aalready one out there somewhere. I figure this way, if we all participate, we won't have to resort to cookbooks anymore! Anyway, here's my secret chicken recipe...... Oven fried chicken!
You will need:
1 1/2 cups potato flakes: instant potatoes, flavor your choice
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon water
1 egg
3-3.5 pounds cut up frying chicken ( I use boneless, skinless breasts)
Heat oven to 400. In large bowl, combine potato flakes, seasoned salt, paprika, garlic powder and pepper. Add butter, mix well. In medium bowl, beat water with the egg
Dip chicken ieces in egg mixture; coat all sides with potato flake mixture. Place chicken, skin side up, in ungreased13*9 inch pan
Bake for 55-60 mins. Now, this is where you have to watch out. For breasts, it's more like 25-30 mins.
I know it may sound like shake n bake, but it's SO much better! This is the dish I make when we have unusual company over for dinner.......

I hope this attachment works.

DownUnder73,
This is so easy/good it will make your head swing. Take a boston butt place it in a dutch oven. Add one cup of apple cider and one cup of vinegar. Top off with whatever season you like.(onion powder/garlic powder/cracked pepper/salt,,,) Next seal off the top of the oven with foil and seal to the oven, Next place the lid of the dutch oven over the foil to make a seal. Place in oven for four hours at 350 degrees F. Don't peak until four hours later. Next pull the pork by hand to make pulled pork sandwiches. AKA BBQ sandwiches if you wish. Or prepare pulled pork to be used and serve it with with crean style corn/slaw/baked beans, This works I have varied this recipe as time goes on. Impress your friends.

Reminds me of an episode from WKRP.

lotusfool,
I would rent a trailer from U-Hual (covered) I hauled my 2 khorns and matching belle from Tyler TX to Little Rock with ease. Price is cheap when you consider what you are hauling. Take no chances. I would reccomend this to all forem members when going on an adventure. Rent the U-Haul from the speaker location back to your town. I was gonna haul my stuff in an open trailer until i realized how bad my luck can be. When it comes to moving speakers don't plan on good luck or good weather. Good luck

Groomlakearea51,
Are we getting close?
Well.... At least until I can get my wife to pose in a demure but provocative outfit while caressing a pair of K'horns, here's a great site!!!

Audio babe-de-month!!! WAF-O-Meter will certainly bottom out... or have about the same reading as if the WAF cracked it over my head and then took the batteries out....
Alas, no Klipsch, but maybe someone will send a picture to them with a "Palladium Pam", "Jubilee Jane", "Klipschorn Kandy", or something like that. A "Heresy Helga" dressed out in some leather with a pair of black lacquer H's does cross my mind though.....
