  1. I would look into the Pioneer Elite THX certified reciever line. I compared a bunch of receivers including: Denon, Onkyo, Onkyo Integra and Yamaha. The Elite just sounded the best to me with my Klipsch speakers. The Elite (1st), Integra (2nd) and the Denon a close (3rd). I did not like the Yamaha's at all. - End of Rant -
  2. Did some more playing. I originally had it set up as CD, so when I played a dvd I could not use all of the fun dvd features. I switched the digital assignment to DVD and when I play a CD I found out I can still access 5 channell stero. So all is now well. Thanks everyone for you help!! For instance, if I put a CD in my DVD player, my receiver plays it back fine. It auto detects the signal, and sets it to Dolby Pro (since it's stereo coming from a "video" source), but I just push one button on the receiver to set it to stereo mode and all is fine.
  3. Need some help with the digital assignments on my reciever with regards to my DVD/CD player. My DVD player supports multiple formats DVD, CD, Cdr. So I use on component for DVD, and CD playback. I have an Elite vsx-33tx reciever and DV-C36 DVD carousel. I have assigned it as digital input number 1 as my CD player on my reciever. Every time I want to use it as a DVD player with all of the other options I have to change my input assignment to DVD to take full advantage of DVD features. I was wondering if anyone knows of an eaiser way to handle this. I was thinking of using one digital optical and coax from the dvd to the reciever and assigning each one of these as eiter dvd or cd, this way I can still switch while using digital connections. However, in my DVD players manual it states not to use both of its digital outputs to the same component. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas or could be of help. Thanks!!
