  1. Back when I had a pair of Lascala's, I acquired some parts to build a single LS for my HT setup. I never got around to building the speaker and have since sold the LS's. Therefore, I have some spare parts to sell. K-400 horn with K-55 driver K-77 Tweeter (round magnet) K-1545-K woofer (15", 8 ohm) I would like to sell all of these together, and will offer at what I believe is a good price (less than what I have in them) - $200 for all plus shipping. If the group does not sell in a few days, I'll consider pricing the items individually.
  2. SB, I'm still evaluating.....not sure if it will ever end. I love the RF-7's, but they are different.....trying to figure out why. Given my room layout, I'm not really missing the LS's, but I'm not in a hurry to unload the Forte II's....I need a little more time with the 7's. If I keep the 7's, I'll need a set of surrounds.....and if RS-7's don't show, I guess the FII's will have to do. So many questions.....but I love it! Rockhound, I'll keep you posted on what I decide. I'm from your neck of the woods.... Or West LA as we call it. Hogfan
  3. For the time being, I'm suspending this listing, until I can better determine these speakers are the ones that need to go. When I posted this listing, I expected a quick sale....due to price, but that did not happen. Now, I need to rethink my speaker setup....to verify this is the right move. Hopefully I'll know something in the next week or so, and will report back....stay tuned! I appreciate the recent interest shown in this listing. Thanks, Hogfan
  4. The cheater plug worked! Thanks for all your help....much appreciated! I love this forum....lots of outstanding people here that will help you out in a heartbeat. Can't beat it! Furthermore, what a difference the QSC pro amp made to my main towers (RF-7's)...wow wow wow!! These bad boys needed the extra juice my HK avr could not deliver. They now sound fuller, cleaner and more open. Hogfan
  5. SBinLilRock now has a great pair of Lascala's. It was a very good transaction....he is a stand-up guy! Hogfan
  6. I'm sure they are, as my wires/power cords behind my reciever and amp look like a spider web. I'll work on cleaning these up a bit.....and trying to separate the RCA cables a little. Gotcha on the cheater plug...yes, I have one of them. Will give it a try. Thanks for you help! Hogfan
  7. It doesn't hum under this scenario. But, when I connect the RCA cables and power on the preamp, the hum starts...in both speakers, with the amp volume at zero... And gets louder with increased volume. I just did the auto calibration, before trying this. What now? Thx!
  8. Not sure what it is. The hum gets louder if I raise the volume on each speaker.
  9. This is how I did it, but I hear a really loud hmmm coming from both front speakers when I turn the outboard on.
  10. I would like to power my front L/R speakers with a 2 channel pro amp, but leave the center and surrounds powered by the avr....while having the avr acts as overall pre-amp. Is this possible? My avr has pre-out connections. Thanks in advance for your help! Hogfan
  11. Rhetoric, These LS's are not painted....they have glass tops. One top just got cracked, so it has been disposed. Thanks, Hogfan
  12. SB, I've responded to your PM. Thanks, Hogfan
  13. Thanks Hugeroost. I wish the Petrino fiasco would not have happened...it's certainly impacted our football program. I hope our new hire lives up to his billing....we'll see. Hogfan
  14. I have a pair of Lascala's (LSBR) for sale. I bought them from the original owner about 2 yrs ago. He said he bought them new from Custom Audio in Little Rock around 1978. Based on the tags on the back, I believe they are 78 models. They are in excellent condition....and I mean excellent! The crossovers had new caps installed after I got them. They look and perform great. When I bought them, I had plans of working them into my HT setup, but never got that accomplised. If I had room to store these, I would. If someone wants a nice pair of LS's, here is your chance. They are for pickup only...no shipping. I'm offering these for $1,100 to forum members, if bought and picked up by this Friday (3/22)! If not sold by Friday, this offer will be off. FWIW, at this price I'm loosing a decent amount of money on these, but am Ok with it if a forum member wants them and will buy quickly. Also, I have some spare parts for a LS (was planning to build a center speaker) that I would sell with the LS's, for $150 more. They include a K77 and K400 horn w/ K55 driver. Thanks, Hogfan
  15. The time has come for me to thin out some of my gear. I will add pictures later. I will not ship these.....for pick up only! Both pair are black and in good overall condition Forte II's - $400. Quartet's - $275. Both pair together.....$575! I would really like to sell both pair together, as they make for a great HT setup (how I've been using them). The only reason for selling these is because I only have one room for HT/music (my man-cave....and it's small/mid-size), and I need to get rid of some stuff. I just picked up a pair of RF-7's, while the wife is out of town, and I need to thin out some gear before she returns this weekend...if you know what I mean! I want to give my fellow forum members first shot at these. If not sold here on the forum over the next couple of days, I'll be putting them on the local *list. Thanks, Hogfan
  16. Thanks for the info, I now have it working.
  17. Where can I find a replacement power cord for a RSW subwoofer? Could I find it at some place like Radio Shack? Thanks, Hogfan
  18. How difficult are these to get set up correctly in a room? My room is 14 x 20, and I'm running Lascala's as my mains. I've been holding out for a RSW 15, if one ever comes along. However, I've also given some thought to building a horn-loaded tuba. My listening is about 70/30....music/movies. Thanks for your input. Hogfan
  19. How do these subs compare to the Klipsch RSW 15? hogfan
  20. Rhino, I'm thinking about unloading my La Scala's. They are '78 models in very good condition (9+/10). They are raw birch that are stained a light brown/golden color. If you are interested, let me know, I can send some pics. I also have most of the components for a single La Scala.....I was planning on building one (short version) for center channel. For the pair, and the components for a center, they would be hard to beat for HT...or music. I'm in Little Rock. Hogfan
