  1. Well, I blew the Aiwa while it was on its own Amp, the only time i hooked it to my sub was to test converting bare speaker wire to RCA, and when i did hook it up it sounded great. So in other words the Aiwa had nothing to do with it. On the logitech forums one of the guys did say it may have been my amp, but when I switched both speakers the same one was producing the same noise.
  2. Hm. I get what your saying. In this case I may just ditch the eBay idea and wait until I store up some more cash for a home system and amp. The Klipsch speakers, are on and off. On certain songs it will be alright, and other the driver (or tweeter, hard to tell) on one of them will produce this staticy sound. I was talking about the Aiwa speakers were the ones I blew, it was a bookshelf 160W with Tweeter, Mid, and a 120cm sub on each speaker and I blew the mid and tweeter on one of them. You said that the logitech sub is built for its stock speakers, but on the forums someone told me (before I purchased the Klipsch satellites) that the speakers werent going to hold up for my pleasure and that I should purchase the klipsch right away, and he was right. Week 2 I blew the right logitech satellite with my blasting music no higher than 60-70%. The speakers were 2.5" mid with this huge thorn in the middle, so often it would rattle at about 40-50%. I think its best if I dont go with my first idea and wait til I get s ome spare cash, cause I would perfer a matching home system.
  3. Yeah, I read somewhere that theyre mostly for close listening. The reason why I dont want to do the whole amp this is because the sub I have is good and I dont want *** to go to waste. All I need is to replace the speakers. The guy said look for expensive ones that are going at half price, the sony ones I showed were originally a part of a sony 5,1 piece, the compuy thats selling them said those are overstocked speakers which is why thyre selling them at that price. So in other words I dont think its just a pair of $30 speakers. I found my Aiwa bookshelf system (Yeah, I blew the right mid & tweeter fromblasting them) and hooked the left one to it, cranked it on my sub and from what I know the sound was pretty clear on them. I think it was a 3.5" mid driver with a 1" tweeter. So if that can do the job, why cant a dual 4" and 2" tweeter do better since the person who answered my last question thinks otherwise?
  4. And one more thing. Are monitor speakers better?
  5. Nevermind. I was asking if studio monitor speakers would make a difference. Then I came across these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Surround-Speakers-PAIR-NIB_W0QQitemZ300182251566QQihZ020QQcategoryZ14996QQcmdZViewItem Dual 4" 100W 2" tweeter Brand new At 30 bucks The sub is 120W, so that shouldnt do anything to the amp, right?
  6. Sorry but that still didnt answer my question " Whats the difference in montior speakers? Cause I saw soe with some outstanding specs. If the speakers have more wattage than the sub, is that bad? "
  7. If I do number one Ill have a 4.1 system. The logitech is the Sub, the Klipsch is the satellites. I blew the Logitech satellites week 2 from purchase. Even then, Ill just mave more distorted noise. Im looking for better speakers, not another PC speaker system.
  8. Well, Im talking to some of my other friends about the same thing. What the source is (what I would like to stick with) is my Logitech Z-2300 Sub that has a L&R RCA output. They said I can strip two RCA wires to make bare wire speakers work, now its a matter of picking which ones to use. I also have so more questions so I know more about what im doing in the long run, and making sure when I purchase these they'll last: Whats the difference in montior speakers? Cause I saw soe with some outstanding specs. If the speakers have more wattage than the sub, is that bad?
  9. He suggested Heritage or some sort, but I looked into those and i dont wanna go that big. I want a basic 2.1 setup, but one that I can crank and still get a good quailty sound from, versus trying to do so with a 3" driver pumping out hard rock and vocals at once. I would like to use my Logitech sub but since it only has a L/R RCA input, idk if it woudl work, but if I can get a 2 peice off eBay then I can buy a reciver and sub hopefully for Xmas
  10. Thanks. If those arent a good selection, I was also looking into these: New Polk Audio R150 Two-Way Bookshelf Speakers, Black - (eBay item 250196198225 end time Dec-15-07 18:02:19 PST) and if I get them, I could match it with Polk Audio PSW10 Home Theater Subwoofer - (eBay item 270195020632 end time Dec-15-07 12:21:39 PST)
  11. The amp is intergrated into the sub. Theyre computer speakers, I was looking intoo getting bookshelf instead. So you mean I can hook an amp to it?
  12. My logitech Z-2300 sub is good but my Klipsch ProMedia satellites are failing. But I want speakers that I can turn up that produce loud clean music rather than getting distorted at 60% volume. So I guess im looking into bookshelf systems. How are these? And between them, which would you recommend me getting? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=180191143985&_trksid=p3984.cWAT.m240.lVI http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=260189184302&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI
  13. Ill look into those. And thanks, I thought that section was only for Klipsch products.
