  1. I'm looking for my next project. I had been planning on building a Cornscala, but wonder about combining a Cornwall bass bin with a Jubilee horn (510/K69). Has anyone done this? Could a passive network work well 2 way? The room is about 16' x 21' with a ceiling that varies from 7' to 11'. Stereo music only (no tv), driven by a McIntosh MC275. Thanks.
  2. I'm 95% sure they're original. The button is the same color as the up arrow stencils on the back of the boxes, and the top of the button sits flush with the back panel of the speaker (the button height is the same as the board thickness.) Looking through a loupe the solders look the same as the other solders in the cabinet. Also behind the cabinet damping I can see pencil marks to locate the hole that are the same as the pencil marks that locate the speaker terminals. There's no tripping action to the button- its a solid push-click on & push-click off. I wonder if its some provision for dealers to demo speakers?
  3. Not a circuit breaker- definitely on/off switches. Tonight I'll open them & post a photo.
  4. I just bought a pair of vertical Cornwalls, by the serial number I think they're from '64. Adjacent to the speaker wire terminals each speaker has a red pushbutton switch which kills the speaker. Is this normal or original? What's the purpose? I haven't pulled the backs off yet to look inside. Just curious- thanks.
  5. My listening room is about 10'x20', with my Forte's on the short wall. I'm running an old McIntosh MC275 (75 w.p.c.) & never turn the volume over 1/3 of the way up. Efficiency seems to be really close to my Heresy II's.
  6. I'm new to the forum & new to Klipsch. I'm putting a small system together for my office- a McIntosh MX110 tube tuner/preamp & a McIntosh MC275 tube amp. For about the same price I could buy either a pair of Heresy II's or KG3's. Unfortunately I can't do a side-by-side comparison. I notice on paper the KG3's have wider frequency response, but they seem to be less valued on the used market. How do the speakers compare? Thanks!
