bestbuy has them for 299 on sale, but will they sound better than a pair of polk audio monitor 70's or even a pair of f-2's? also, are the klipsch SL speakers worth twice the price than the quintet 3? i have noticed the SL's can be bought for 599 at vanns.... thanks for your input!!!

my jbl's are ok, but im really in the mode to upgrade them to the sl package vs f2's (x2) (and later f1 for rears) or i may get the quintet 3's while they on sale....

hello everyone, and thanks for your responses.... i am in the market to upgrade my current yamaha 8" bookshelfs im currently using for my fronts in my system.... bb has the f2 for 279 i think and the f3 for 499..... which is the better deal to get? i know the f3 is better, i heard them both myself in a side by side comparison at the store, but they are nearly twice the price.... do you guys think the f2's can hold their own in a nice sized room with vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors?

i got my sub10 for 249 at bestbuy during holiday season, but took it back and got the sub12 once my friend got one and i heard it......it simply rocks....either one will do just fine for 99.99% of people, but if u want that lil extra uuuuummmmph go with the 12....

get the synergy sub12, i had the sub10 and it wasnt enough......the sub12 really is top notch with everything i was looking for!

well, i went with the hk 146.....i brought it home, hooked it up, and i cant get the video to come on from my satellite.....im gonna take it back and get the hk 145 at costco.......my plasma has two hdmi ports, and im just gonna rock with that...besides, i read that the 145 actually has more watts than the 146.....

today is the day people!!!! i am going to take the plunge!!! i have a budget of roughly $350..... in the blue corner, sporting the hdmi hookups powered by 75 watts/per, the denon 1508 (bestbuy open box $299) in the red corner, sporting a solid rep of clarity and crispness, with the added features of hdmi hookups and nifty downplayed 30 watts/per, the hk 146 (bestbuy $279) with the special guest referee, representing the hk company sporting a nice rep but a bit on the last years model, the hk 145 (costco $250) lol ok, so im bored and watched too many rocky highlights.... the deal is today im going in with all pistols and credit cards flashing!!! i need a good receiver, actually i need the best one 350 can buy....... its down to the hk 145/146 vs the denon 1508 i would like to have spent an extra c-note and grabbed the hk-247, but im a baller on a budget and just cant spare it............ i need some advice on these three....im leaning on the denon if its still available when i walk in bestbuy later this afternoon...... what is the deal with MAGNOLIA at bestbuy? are those products superior to everything else? the 30 watts of the hk scare me a bit.... i like to play my music and movies loud, but i also want good, clean, crisp sounds that will make everyone jeolous and envious..../wink any more info would be great!!

i am in the process of upgrading my reciever to hk or yamaha....i have been looking at the hk-247 from its site refurbished at 388, but at my local bestbuy they have an hk-146 open box at 212..... i was looking at the yamaha RX-V361BL for 199 because its 100w x 5 power with .06% thd...... the bestbuy guy said the hk146 has better sound, but the yamaha will play louder.... im thinking about going with these budget receivers cause im taking back my synergy sub10 ($250) and getting the sub12 ($469)...so i could use the extra cash by not getting the 388..... i guess my question is should i get the hk146 at 212 or yammy361 for 199? my second question is will either of those two be able to supply enough power for my future dream system im in the process of building: f2 fronts, f2 rears, c2 center.....matched with sub12 subwoofer...... thanks guys!

lol.....not my fault.....people kept saying the sub10 has a more balanced sound, yada-yada-yada....... here is the thing that tipped me over towards the sub10.....i got it for $250.......the sub12 is currently $469.......i was saving 200 buckaroos!!! my friend really rubbed it in my face how much better his sub12 sounds, it is SCARY-BASS!!! this sucker was on minimum sound level and it still destroyed my sub10.....when i put it up to half way up, it was super super bassful (if that is a word)..... luckily i got 30 days to return it....... think its worth 200 more bucks?

im stuck....i cant figure out which is better.....denon 1705 is in the magnolia section at bestbuy, does that mean anything? i hear that denon made in china are garbage, and the 1705 is made in china i think..... i kinda wanted a denon for a long time, but i hear hk is better..... im leaning towards the hk-247 for the features, reputation, and quality.... let me know what you guys think....

i recently just purchased a synergy sub10, and it is awesome!!! my friend came over and fell in love with them, then he went and bought the sub12.... he hooked it up to an old kenwood htib system, and it totally destroys my sub10..... now i got to spend 200 more bux and go buy it, it is sooooo worth the extra coin.... if u need a sub, save up for the synergy sub12, it is nails!!!!

circuitcity has the onkyo 605 for $450... bestbuy has the denon 1508 for $350.....denon 1708 for $425~ bestbuy also has the hk 146 for $275......hk 247 for $450 bestbuy also has the pioneer 917 for $411, and pioneer 1017 for $424 im really confused on which to get, so some insight would be great..... fyi, i will be pushing f2's for fronts and rears hopefully sometime soon afterwards............

how am i suppose to do that? is the 1708 or 1508 china or japan? is it me, or are most items made in china a chocolate-covered turd?

im gonna include the denon 1508 at $150 less than the 1708....... onkyo 605 ($450) vs denon 1508 ($350) vs denon 1708 ($500) vs hk 247 ($500) i got a $500 limit for my receiver.....thanks for any input!

i have narrowed my choices down to these two receivers....any input is appreciated!!! which is the better receiver for music and video? my panasonic 50" plasma has two hdmi inputs, and ill be using dvd and dish for hdmi..... id probably go with the one that produces the best sound quality.... onkyo 90watts/per or hk 85watts/per or denon 75watts/per.....i have no clue as to which produces better sound power and quality.....

im not going to wall mount them, so if i went with bookselfs or surrounds, they would be on stands.....but i was kinda leaning towards towers cause most stands i have seen have been a bit flimsy or cheap looking.....thats why i was thinking about f1 or f2.....but that would be real pricey for my system....ill be peicing it together over the next few months, but i would like to keep the overall price reasonable....but those bookselfs come in pairs and would save alot of $$$ by getting those instead of two more f2's or f1's.....but if they worth the extra money then i would do that.....

i took back that piece of trash and exchanged it for the same sub...... this sub10 rocks my house!!!! i love it...... i am very satisfied with what i am hearing from movies.....it holds its own with music too, but i am under the impression that subs are only to assist fronts in the music scene, so i will be saving up for those f3's or f2's..... thanks to all those who responded, i appreciate the help!!! one klipsch down, 5 to go!!!
