  1. i hooked up the good speaker on the right with right wires and after few minutes it too turned off the receiver. I'm puzzled.
  2. in the store they had it hooked up for months and no problem. i just wanted to see if the damaged speaker sounded right compared to the good one because in store you cant really tell, too much noise.
  3. it just turned off with the damaged speaker hooked up to the right wires.
  4. thanks wvu80 for the reply, yes i took your advice but first I hooked up the bad speaker back again and it played a little longer maybe 5minutes before shutting off. So i unhooked that speaker and moved/connected it to the right side and right now it has been few minutes and still playing. I have them bare wire. i checked and no wires are touching but i will double check again. seems maybe the left side wire has the problem. still playing... maybe thats why the sound was different when left and right was hooked up the left (with bad speaker) sounded not as good as the right side. i also opened up the bad speaker and checked everything and everything seem okay. i hope we can fix this, i don't want to return the speaker and i asked the manager to check if any other stores has them and no one has them. Are these speaker discontinued ?
  5. I unhooked the damaged speaker and see if that will fix it and 10min now of playing music still working fine. Im just starting to like this speaker even with cosmetic damage but now i think something inside is broken... How about new klipsch reference bookshelf that bestbuy has? But it might me the "synegy" stuff
  6. @Youthman wow!! Is that your theater room? Jeeez
  7. Wvu yes im keeping it i fixed it with electrical tape. Quick fix for now. So i set it up and i noticed that the damage speaker does not soud the same as the other speaker im trying to demo different songs then my amp for the first time ever keeps turning off it blinks "protect" then turns off. Any suggestions?
  8. @Youthman i like how they sound, i think your right some super glue or wood filler and sharpie or black paint will hide it. If you were in my situation and you liked how they sound would you keep them?
  9. yes WVU80 they're giving good advice polks speakers are always on sale like 50% off especially Christmas time. what do you guys think of the damage speakers? i can maybe patch it and paint in black so it wouldn't get noticed.
  10. oh those other 2 speakers are community pro speakers 15inches (only used if i have a house party for music, with QSC amp)
  11. @Youthmanno its under the screen
  12. thanks scrappydue, that will save few hours from trying that heehhe. I guess i will just leave it alone then... ok youthman i will take a pic .. hold on..
  13. oh in a very very small room 8x10 was an office but i turned it into a budget theater room. it shakes though hehhe.
  14. okay scrappydude, im 70% thinking of returning them.... the sound is good though... oh lol yea thats my old signature like 2009 i should update it.. i used the rcx-4 for centre in my bedroom i dont even know what happened to those now if i sold them or still in the garage somewhere. in my theater theater room i have rf-62ii for LCR rs42ii for surround, 2 velodyne dps12, CVA21 21inch subwoofer (hooked up) all hooked up to an onkyo amp but im going to try tonight to switch it to my harmon/kardon i think those sound better but is older i will also try to hook up my QSC 2x500 watts amp to the LR speaker output of the harmon kardon to see if it will sound better.
  15. I bought them the RB51 mkii BUT one of the speaker box is damage in the top left corner and bottom right corner... thats why they gave it to me for $199 from $499 to $269 (was the sale sticker price) but i got them to lower it to $199. the speakers are fine they work nothing wrong with them and it has 5 years warranty. The damaged is just bothering me. There is a guy on craigslist selling polk r300 for $100 pair what do you guys think? should i return the RB51 and get the polks? they are towers too and so i wont need a stand for them. They have good reviews aswell.
  16. any other sub suggestion for the same price as sub 12?
  17. ah okay, if i get one i will definitely get extended warranty then. Thanks!
  18. ah okay, you may be right it does look like the "synergy" line. I will be going to my local store in an hour when it opens and buy the RB51 mkii. Il take a photo once i get it in my living room. Thanks youthman.
  19. hi thanks for the replies, youthman and wvu80. I live in vancouver, canada. Okay i think i will just buy those RB-51ii and keep looking for rf-52ii. also do you guys think it would be an ok match if i buy the new R24F instead?
  20. Hi all i used to have the old sub 12 and i liked them, are the new sub 12 any better or the same? Im looking for a sub for my family/living room i dont need a really good sub just an average one for this room. It is on sale at my local store for $299. thanks.
  21. Hi all, its been like 6 years since i posted here. I need some help advice on which speaker to match my RC-52ii. I have a dedicated theater room but this system will be for my living/family room 3.1 setup. Music and Movies. I just can't stand tv speaker sound. I was looking for rf-52ii but no stores sells them anymore. I have been looking in the used market but cant find any. In my local store there is a floor model RB51 mkii that is on sale for $250 and the guy even says he can lower it to $199, regular price when new was $499 for the pair. Another option is a used quintet 3 i can get 4 for $80 but only need 2. Or is there any new Klipsch speakers that will go well with my RC-52ii? thanks!
  22. hi all thanks for the replies! Hi will, glad to see your still around on this forum, i haven't been on here in a while but i still remember you. Yes it is underprice. No all the speakers are still on the same locations as before and i reseted the amp to factory settings and ran audyssey for all. I emailed the guy i bought it from and he was the one who suggested to reset it to factory settings. When i had it everything was -10 on bass and treble was -6. He set it to that because he said he got too much bass from his speakers. But on mine no bass at all except for the sub out which has nice tight bass. but if i want to run 2 channel music i get nothing. Maybe i should turn up the volume to 0 or +5 but there should be some bass to in -10. its as if its set to "small" and all the bass is sent to the sub. Hmm.. i'll try to turn off the "sub" on the settings maybe that will do.
  23. Hello, I have Klipsch sub 12 300watts and Velodyne DSP12 200watts. Right now i use the sub12. I was wondering if i should buy another sub12 or sell my sub 12 and get a DLS5000 rated at 600watts or 1000watts rms, i dont know which one is real spec. I've read a lot and some say it is really 1000watts rms and maybe if played for a whole day it would be 600rms. which one would be better? should i sell the velodyne and sub12 and get a used DLS5000 for almost the same price. $550 used on CL, i can prob sell mine for $250 for sub12 and $200 for velodyne. Both subs sound good. Would it be better to have just one 15inch dls5000? or should i keep all and get a sub12 and DLS5000r? so it would be like fronts are 2 sub 12 next to the rf-63's and in the back are 1 DSP12 and DLS5000? but it would sound too hard to configure all those subs! sorry for all the questions but i was just wondering what to do and if any of you have the same setups. thanks a lot. i'm hoping to get some inputs.
  24. Hi all, I just got an Onkyo 805 from craigslist for $300. When i listen to music or movies there are now bass at all going to my fronts LR even if i set it to full range. This thing is 130watts and my 80watts other onkyo receiver that i use before gave me so much bass. Movies/music the sub does the low freq. sound. When i first heard it i thought this thing was broken because the sound compared to my smaller onkyo was so different and this is suppose to be a better receiver. Then after watching a few movies i realized that the sound was cleaner and clear. And when i turn up the volume the sound gets very loud but not like my smaller onkyo that i would want to turn it down because it was like in your face "look at me" loud. Also the most difference is on the bass. With the smaller onkyo when i watch movies even if there are no bass on the movie it like shakes the room with big bass. But with this one you dont hear it until there really is bass like a tree falling or explosion and is very tight, night and day difference. The smaller onkyo bass was like those bass in a car subwoofer. That's why i always wonder why in the movie theatre it doesnt shake like the 1 i have at home and when there are bass scenes its like natural. Now i have that with this onkyo 805 i guess that's the diff between the cheap receiver and the expensive's ones or higher end ones. But my only problem is that it doesnt sound good for music, no bass at all except for sub preout. I know now why some people want different or a stereo receiver for music and one for dedicated movie only. Is what im saying right? is this what the higher end receiver suppose to sound like comapred to an entry level one. or there is a setting or something wrong with my 805? i hope i can get some answers, thanks all~
