  1. By far one of the toughest requests Ive had to date.

Here is Barry's THREE 12 gauge cables bundled together ~27feet in clean cut black. One the amp end, three 12 gauge cables come out 12 inches in clean cut black and locking plugs. The opposite end 12 gauge cables are staggered at 8ft, 14ft, and 20ft in clean cut black, and locking plugs.

  2. reference head - this is a great link! (atsa acoustics) Thank You for sharing this. My wife can't get into hanging acoustic treatments on the wall, I have casually looked around for some "art" that might work, but the coffee bag acoustic treatments may just work out in our house! Smile Another reason to hang around here, I learn something new just about every visit!

  3. I would never buy any receiver at $1500 or more, no matter what room correction it has.

Better components with a plain old db meter to balance the volumes would be my choice at those prices or higher, there is nothing special because it's a receiver, if anything it's lower grade than separates, if not in components in the construction, there not just sticking it all in one box because they like you, there making a killing.

And if you think there is no difference in sound, your either more deaf than I am, never heard them side by side or just in love a certain brand, but it's all good if your ears are happy with the standard Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon, Sony................there I think I ticked off most people...............my job is done here.............

    Just another oponion..........

First off, the 5508 is a pre pro and not a receiver. An spl meter to set everything in the room? Lol. And if you think that there isn't a difference in sound, you are deaf.

  4. I was trying to look into those eD Cinema speakers. All I found was the mains and it was a DIY...is this how they offer them?

I can only imagine the sound level potential in that room :)

Those were a custom job for me. I like towers so Alex accommodated me.

  5. Looks fantastic Nezff! I wouldn't change a thing but I do see an acoustic transparent drop down screen and projector in your future!Yes

+10 I agree. Only thing missing otherwise I would say this is many men's dream room!! Good job man!

Not easy to pull off with that ceiling... But yeah, that's what's missing.

Believe me. I have though long and hard about that. I'm still kicking myself for not wiring up for that. Without actually tearing the ceiling out, there is not way to run the power, hdmi etc. in there. Foamed and sheetrocked.

  6. Your room looks awesome Nezff. I bet it sounds amazing as well. Dual 18's. Man...talking about rocking the house.

My only question is why the center channel is aimed at your ankles? Wouldn't it be best to have the horn aimed at your ears?

It actually sounds great. I had it custom built to fit in this cabinet.

  7. I was in the same boat about 4 years ago. I choose the rf62s due to budget and not really hearing the difference in the 82 compared to their asking price.

If you are going home theater with subs, IMHO, you wouldn't notice the difference. Most people go to the store to listen and the speakrs are not setup properly etc... If I run bass heavy music through these and compare, yes the 82s might shine more.

  8. I think the op was asking about the top of the line pre pro from onkyo. The 5508.

I have this unit. I bought it brand new from 6th ave for $1500 shipped. I'm not really seeing how a Emotiva product would sound better than a onkyo with audyssey xt32. Tia was the reason I bought it. Also most of us on this forum like the certain sound we are accustomed to. Audyssey is made to make the system flat. Most people dont like flat and never will. They like the shrill of highs.

To the op, no I would not pay 1600 for it refurbed.
