I have a pair of RF-82's that are powered by my Marantz 3250B and 170DC wow do they sound good, nice and warm. Before that that were powered with a Marantz 2015, I was amazed at how well that little receiver sounded with the 82's. IMO Klipsch and Marantz can't be beat! That is besides tubes[

My 665 pushes my RF-82, RC-62 & RS-42's pretty well. With that said I hooked up my little vintage Marantz 2015 to my RF-82's WOW what a difference that 2015 makes. Much warmer sound and a much tighter/louder bass. Needless to say now I may have to try adding a Emotiva XPA-3 to see how that sounds.

Currently I have my RF-82's and my RC-62 hooked up. My RS-42's are sitting in the box collecting dust. I'd like to install some rear ceiling speakers as the wire is already run and I can't get away with hanging the RS-42's on the wall. There is a good 6 or 7 feet behind me from where l'd be sitting. I was just wondering if anyone had a suggestion on what Klipsch in ceiling speaker would work best.

Yes, thats what I was getting at but couldn't figure out how to word it. I wanted to see if I could hook up my 2 channel gear to the second set of binding posts. If yes do I remove the strapping in between?

So I'm currently in the process of downsizing a few things due to divorce. Of course I'm keeping MOST of my HT and some of my 2 channel equipment. Sadly I won't have enough room for my Heresy's which leads me to my question. Since my RF-82's can be bi-wired and they are currently hooked up to my HT can I use the open connections to hook up to my Marantz equipment? Or will this create some type of crazy issue and blow up everything I own? Essentially I'd like to have two systems but one pair of speakers.

I haven't heard the RS10 but do own the RS42. I have to say I am VERY impressed with the 42's. My system package recommends the RS52's for the RF82's that I have but I found the 42's on 6th Ave for $250 a pair so I couldn't pass them up. IMO go for the 42's

Just wondering why you couldn't add a sub to the 2252B?

I am not 100% certain of that. I am under the impression you need a receiver/preamp that has a low freq./sub preout to run to the subwoofer. Vintage Marantz receivers did not come equipped with any. I am not in any way an expert. If you know how to do it, fill me in.

I love my 2252B as well, pre-out's would make it easier but your right the Marantz does not have them. On the back of the sub you should be able to run your speaker wire into the sub then your sub out to the Marantz with speaker wire as well. I think Klipsch has it listed as a "high level in and high level out" on my Sub-12.

Vintage setup with Marantz 2252b and Forte's? Couldn't if I wanted to. No need with the two 12 inchers. Onkyo/B&K and RF-63's? Yes, only to give amp relief and utilize all of it's power.

I can honestly say I really enjoy my RF-82's, RC-62, and RF-42's. I pieced all that together for about $1000. When 6ave has their "name your price sale" you can't beat it. Good luck!

I don't with mine, but do have the bass turned up a little on my Marantz. Been thinking about hooking up my Sub-12 that I'm not using for my HT, and see how it sounds with the Heresy's.

I was just sitting here yesterday listening to my Reference speakers thinking "WOW I'm soooooo glad I sold the F-3's and bought these"
With that said I can only imagine how good the RF-83's or 7's would sound. Don't get me wrong the F-3's are a very good speaker but it's not a Reference.
One the other hand for just 2 channel music I love my Heresy's.

Hey Rocko, maybe you can help me out. I have a yamaha rx-v663 going to klipsch B2 bookshelf speakers front and rears, c2 center and polk audio 8 inch psw 111 150 continous watts. I have a boston acoustics 10 inch horizon 260 cont watts sub that I will be hooking up in a few weeks. I know that the 663 and 665 are similar receivers. It sounds good, but I feel like it doesn't have uuumph, especially when listening to music. How do you have your receiver set up? or can you give me some ideals on the receiver.

I had the 663 as well. It was a great receiver. I usually just use the Sound Decode mode and let the receiver do the work for me. When listening to music I used the Pure Direct mode. I sold the 663 for an Onkyo TX-SR806, man did that thing get hot. Guess thats why they had the warning label on it. So I returned that and went with the 665. I don't even have my Sub-12 hooked up with the 665 and I still get a decent amount of bass. One of the things I always kept in mind was no matter what receiver I have I was going to add an Emotiva XPA-3 to it. Ok I've rambled enough hope I added some value?

I like my 665. It has everything I need and then some. It pushes my equipment fine, although my plan it to add an emotiva XPA-3 but that's just for "head room"

Just wondering if anyone else has had a tough time finding the right stand for a decent price? I'm unable to mount my TV on the wall so finding something that can accommodate the TV, center channel, receiver, PS3 and eventually an AMP has become a daunting task. Any recommendations for a tight budget?

I've owned a sony receiver, can't remember the model number. IMO it's junk. I also owned a Onkyo TX-SR806. It sounded great but got super hot, with my Son crawling around that's the last think I wanted to worry about, yes it got that hot and came with a warning sticker on it. I settled with the Yamaha RX-V665 (had the RX-V663 but sold it for the Onkyo) It's a great receiver at a decent price. Just my 2 cents.

You should talk to my Wife then. She's always telling me to turn the bass down on "those things" and I don't even have my sub hooked up yet.
I think the 82's have good bass for two channel. I listen to all kinds of music on them and never thought they lacked in that department.

It's a decent size, probably 4 inches long by an inch high at it's largest. I believe they are OO. I picked them up for $300 which after listening to them I think is a steal. Can't wait to get that Marantz on them. Formby's seems to be a great suggestion the more I read.

I love my RF-82's with my Marantz 2015 such a sweet mellow sound. My Marantz 3250b and 170dc sound great as well but not quite the same warmth. Either way I dont think you can go wrong with the Marantz + Klipsch match up.
