  1. Getting the most out of my investment without killing them.
  2. Being as the RF35s could run on more power than my 606 puts out, what do you think. Understand that I play my setup loud when using all speakers 2ch, I don't hear any clipping but on the other end of it, would throwing that much at high volume at a bi amped horn blow it out?
  3. My fronts aren't perfect matches but I think I"ll be OK, I'd rather have larger fronts for 2ch music. RF35 RC52 RS52
  4. Ideally I'd like to run just my fronts and backs and not play the centers at all. This is how I usually run music in a speakers A + B pairs setup. But now with 5.1 I don't have B speakers. So what I'm looking for is the way to run the additional pair is if they were hooked up like B's however they obviously will be wired as rears. So its more of a setup question than tell me what sounds best. Sorry for any confusion.
  5. I'm in the process of picking new reference speakers to complete my system. Here's my question. I like to listen to my music loud-metal/rock. I want to run more than my fronts to fill out the area more. With my Onk 606 I don't know which mode would work best, neo music, multi 2ch, etc... I use this for HT alot as well. So if you want to add imput as to which speaker I should get to replace the ss.5, I'm considering RF10/52, RS 42 or maybe even a RB model. I picked the RC-10 simply cause it fit my cabinet well but ultimately I'll end up upgrading the next time I buy a TV. The RC35 was too large.
  6. Its not that i have it backwards, its that I realize its a compromise. Obvisously the RF would be better for 2ch, and the RS would be suited for HT My question is, Which one would do the other job better, thus minimizing the compromise.
  7. I want to replace my surrounds so I have reference all the way. Heres my issue. I want to be able to run the surrounds, with my fronts when I play 2CH music, at fairly high volume, so they have to be able to take that. I don't really want to compromise much, if any, for HT in doing that, but if it came down to it, I'd rather prioritize the 2ch capabilities. Also I kind of like the idea of having smaller floor models than a mounting a decently sized RS to the wall. So I'm leaning towards picking up a set of RF10s but I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing and not getting a designed surround speaker like the rs42s. I don't think the rs10 would be adequate. So I guess the bottomline is, would using RF10 as surrounds be better for HT than RS42 would be for music? THANKS

  9. Whats the general feedback on this line. I'm shopping the usual suspects of Denon, Yam, but I found a nice price on the Elite model VSX-90TXV. One thing I don't see is the mp3 uncompression some other units have. Anyone know if this is a difference maker or marketing hype. I listen to most of my music off my Zune.
  10. I ended up picking up a set of RF-35s, I'm very happy with them. I watched Transformers and the sound was great. I may end up getting Reference SS/SC and moving the Synergy stuff to the bedroom, but I'm happy right now. I think I'd rather grab a pair of RB-35 for "B" speakers
  11. Yeah, I know I won't get a perfect match, but I don't use the SS and SC for music (only for movie) so I don't consider matching as big of a deal as getting more out of my music. I wouldn't consider the matching front for music. I've read a few write ups saying to say away from the F3. I'll decide whether the RF82 is worth buying over the 62s.
  12. sorry guys, I'm sure its asked all the time, but I assume you wouldn't be here if you didn't enjoy discussing tech. I'm looking to replace a set of 12" Onkyo fronts.. I'll be using the system for HT but I wan't the most performance from rock/metal music. I'm considering Rf-82's or F-3. Does one naturally lend itself more towards music? My current setup for is SS.5, SC.5, KSW10 THANKS
