  1. OK, there was some discussion in a thread awhile back about PWK hating the LaScala. (I don't remember the exact thread) Anyway, yesterday I had the opportunity to talk to "The Man" himself, PWK. We talked at length for some time. I had to ask him if he had any negative feelings towards the LaScala. I wanted to settle this once and for all! He said, although he "leaned" towards the Klipschorn for performance, he didn't have any negative feelings about the LaScala. In fact, he went on to explain some of the bass horn construction to me. Bottom line... PWK DOES NOT hate the LaScala.

    End of discussion,

Man, you got me on those serial numbers! Klipsch has been famous for changing their serial number system. I bet Trey Cannon at Klipsch can figure it out. He's been working on a system for the different serial number variants for awhile now.

I bought my Cornwall II's used but, you couldn't tell it by looking at them. Not a scratch or dent. Aren't they great?

At the risk of stating the obvious... The Texas pair were made the 284th day of 1986 (Oct. 11th), while the Florida pair were made the 55th day of 1986 (Feb. 24th). I have a pair of Oiled Oak/w Black Grills made the 349th day of 1986 (Dec. 5th).

  4. Good news, fellow BB'ers, I'm in business! All I had to do was update my chipset. I'm burning at 4x from the other CD drive and 8x from the hard drive. Life is good again. Thanks to all for the valuable information.

  5. Derek:

No other programs are running in the background. How much did you pay for "Nero"? Where did you get it? Not sure about the channel. How do I check? Do you want both drives on the same channel or not?

    Thanks,

    Tony

  6. Thanks for all the info. Still have a problem, though. I'm burning audio CDR's at the slowest possible speed (2x I think)using the software that came with the burner. I'm getting buffer underrun errors evertime. Doesn't matter if I burn from the hardrive or the other cd drive. I am lacking in the RAM department. (32 megs) If I bump it up to 128 could this correct the problem? Everthing else exceedes the drives requirements.

    Thanks again,

    Tony

  7. OK, I want to burn my own CDR's.

1st: What software would you recommend? I want something versatile.

2nd: What brand of CDR's would you recommend? We're talking high quality here.

3rd: What speed do you record at? (1X, 4X, 8X etc.)

    Many Thanks,

    Tony

The serial numbers are 219592063 & 219592064. I don't think they've ever been modified in any way. These things are mint, light oak w/black grills. What would be "fair market value"? I'm wondering if I got a bargain.

    Thanks,

    Tony

  9. JimG:

You're right, I was referring to the different revisions. I recently acquired a pair of mint CF3's dirt cheap. (and I do mean CHEAP!) I was just curious about which "revisions" I had. Could you tell by the serial numbers?

I know the Epic series isn't very popular on this BB, but I've sorta learned to appreciate them.
