  1. Thanks wuzzzer. I may contact you. I discovered last night that the cd player software on the ps3 has a volume control and mine was set to +1, I didn't get a chance to crank up the volume because my wife was sleeping so I'll see if that was causing the clipping smearing issue, having the artificial gain set high. I'll report back if thats the case.
  2. Clarity has been my general experience with Klipsch also. So i suppose I'm either experiencing issues with my receiver or 2channel audio from the ps3. I'll try posting over at Onkyo and see if anyone has seen this before? Has anyone had any issues with the PS3 audio over HDMI?
  3. Yeah I took a look at the eq on my Onkyo and mad sure the settings were set to 0.0db, the funny thing was it was set for -5.5 db, so moving up to 0.0 increased the gain. I also turned off the Audeyssey eq. The mid freqs. are either getting clipped or all run together, it sounds really muddled, I'm now noticing it on dolby truehd stuff. I tried out the Dave Matthews at Radio City bluray and was noticing audio on my left and right channels sounding muddled. Maybe I'm listening to music with more detail, I have been listening to other folks B&W systems and suddenly I crave more clarity in my music.
  4. I've noticed really terrible audio coming from my RF-82's and I'm trying to figure out where the weak link is. The audio sounds like gain being over ran on the speakers and everything in the mid to highs being run together and its gets crunchy and distorted. The problem is I'm not hearing it in surround audio only when I run the pair in stereo. I'm not running them at high volumes. I'm running cds through hdmi on my ps3 into a Onkyo 805 , it doesn't matter what mode the Onkyo is in, preferably pure audio mode to just the front channels, but even in dolby mixes from 2 channel audio it produces junk. Suggestions? Anybody have advice on how to diagnose the problem?
  5. Should I be looking for directional speakers in the rear? I was reading through some other forums, and unless your into surround music, it seems the census has been to use klipsch dipoles. Thoughts? My guy at my audio place is trying to sell me on RS-10's in my current setup? It seems they may be underpowered compared to the rest of my speakers?
  6. I already have the bug, but the wife says the RF-82's sound good enough. I'm going to pull the trigger on the RC-64, it just offers so much more information from the center compared to the 62. One question still remains? Anybody have any thoughts on what speakers to use as the rear surrounds for a 7.1 system, I already on the 52's and they are awesome, but I'm not sure that another set would work well in the rear. Thoughts?
  7. I have that same setup with the Onkyo 805 and it is awesome
  8. I have already bought the SR805, so my current set up is left and right with RF-82's and for the surrounds if went with the 52's. I finally go the guy to hook up the 64 and 62 with the 82's. The 64 carried a lot more information compared to the 62, plus it seemed to have a much wider sound angle, which makes since considering its a monster in size compared to the 62. I am almost ready to pull the trigger, but I guess my only concern is still whether my 805's amp is strong enough for the 64 with out a ton of compensation in the settings to keep it balanced? Anybody have this similar setup or using the onkyo 805 with the RC-64?
  9. Thanks for the link. I was reading that thread earlier. I have listened to the both the RC-64 and the 62 and noticed that the 64 has a much wider sound array, it really fills out the space. My only concern is that it may over power my RF-82s. The guy at the store hasn't really been a huge help as they did not have the 82's set up in the same room as the RC-64.
  10. Is the 130w/pc in my Onkyo TX-SR805 enough to drive the RC-64? Does anybody have that center channel matched up with the RF-82's, or would the RC-64 over power my left and right channels in that setup?
