  1. The base of the TV is huge. Despite the girth of the KLF-C7, the TV is just too big.
  2. I've run into a little conundrum with my speaker and screen placement. I originally had my 52" LCD wall-mounted with my KG5.5s floor standing and KLF-C7 on it side on top of my equipment cabinet. The speakers tweeters were pretty much perfectly in line which I know is the recommended configuration. Of course, with the height of the KG5.5s tweeter placement is a little below ear level, but not by much. So now we've moved into a new home and while waiting to wall-mount the TV, I placed the TV on it's stand on top of the equipment cabinet (temporarily forgoing the center channel). So now the problem is that everyone in the household (including myself) is preferring the look of the TV how it is as it's more at eye level. So as I looked into mounting the KLF above the TV, I found that the distance between the tweeter levels of the KGs and the KLF would be over 3ft which I know is too much. This brings me to my question. I found some 18" speaker stands that would work for this weight of speaker, but have not been able to find any pictures or examples of how it would look to have a full-size tower speaker on a speaker stand. With the dimensions of these speakers, it could look downright silly or be very complimentary to the whole setup. This will put the tweeter levels above ear level slightly (more so the the KLF, but I can angle that), but not by too much. So, what do you guys/gals think? Sorry for the long post.
  3. The consesus on Plasma vs LCD here has me really surprised. I took a painstakingly long time researching both and did not find a plasma model that came close in picture quality to my Sony KDL-52XBR4. Interesting.
  4. The verdict is now in. A pristine pair of RS7's have arrived! Time to get some ceiling mounts and get these things fired up.
  5. That's why I'm asking for clarification. I'm not trying to argue, I'm bringing up different thoughts so that I can get all the understanding in my head. I definitely want a full range speaker for the rear/side surrounds and thought the speakers (including the KSP-S6s) would be considered so. I was concerned that the KG2.5 wouldn't have enough in them for true full range sound. I welcome all suggestions, that's how I learn. I'm actually now considering buying a set of 2.5s and a set of KSP-S6s and comparing them. There's a couple good sets up for auction now. I figure I can always sell the set I don't want and will probably be out only the shipping costs of them.
  6. Okay, I'm a little confused now. The KLF-C7 wont be changed out anytime soon as I already have it. It blends very well with my KG5.5s so I'm good there. What is the reason I would not want to go with a dipole speaker in a 5.1 or 7.1 setup? With the exception of going all the way up to the THX Ultra 2 setup, Klipsch designs all of their systems to use a dipole setup for the rears/sides. I wouldn't mind going with another set of KG5.5s but I don't think I could muster the floor space. Also, that would put the rear speakers too low in comparison to the listening position. Also, when going to 7.1, I would then have one set of speakers for the surrounds that would be completely different than anything else as having two sets of KG5.5s would be too much (space wise) for the rear/side. Why would the KSP-S6 be a better match than the RS-7? Aren't these also a dipole design? The specs on the RS-7 seem to point to them being a better match with the sensitivity in comparison to my front speakers. I could of course turn the rear speakers to a higher volume to help match the fronts if need be. The RS-7s would also seem to handle full range audio a little better with the larger 8" woofers. The receiver sends equal power to all channels so I don't need to be afraid of a larger speaker (save for space requirements/limitations). If that guy with that auction thought he wasn't getting enough, he'll never sell those things. It'd be easier to start from scratch but I don't have that luxury. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.
  7. Looks like I'm back to square-one. The seller ended the auction 12 hours early for some reason.
  8. Thanks, I'll check out those KSP's as well! I actually plan on getting two sets since I do have a 7.1 receiver, but it's hard enough to find a single pair of these things. I'll give an update as soon as I confirm. I appreciate the info.
  9. Hi All, I'm trying to finally put some speakers behind my head for my HT setup. I've had my KG5.5s for about 12 years now and matched them up with a KLF-C7 about 4 years ago. I finally need to add some surrounds and it looks like the RS-7s would fit the closest. I know the setup is not ideal, but looking at the specs, the sensitivity is dead on between the RS-7s and my KG5.5s and the C-7 is only 1db off. So far, the C-7 has done well with the KG5.5s. Everything is being pushed with a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH. Thank you for the feedback!
