In the 5.1 set up i have an RC-3 for the center channel mounted under the TV and 2 RS-3's for the surround channels on speaker stands even with the couch that's used as the center of the set up. I also have a KSW10 subwoofer on the left hand wall. The surround was sounding fine with the RF-3's as fronts and the 2 channel was sounding fine with the RB-5's but i figured why not pair the RB-5's with the sub in the 5.1 surround and use the RF-3's without the sub in the 2 channel. This way i have more lower end on both systems. Maybe its not such a good idea. How far from the wall should rear ported the speakers be?

Hi All, I am in the process of placing my RB-5's into my 5.1 surround sound set up in the bonus room and in turn placing the RF-3's that are currently used as the fronts in that system in the room with my 2 channel set up. The RB-5's will now be on speaker stands, just bought sand to load them up, as the fronts in the surround. The RF-3's will now be part of a 2 channel system in a smaller room downstairs. How far from the wall should I place each pair? And, should I toe them in at all? I'm swapping them because I don't feel as though I'm taking advantage of the speakers in the systems they are in. Should I just leave them where they are? RF-3's with surround and RB-5's with 2 channel? Sorry to ramble but the RF-3's are cumbersome and I would hate to move them from floor to floor for nothing. This worked like a charm. I bought an RCA Y adaptor (Female to 2 Males) and plugged in my sub connection from the receiver to the female side. I then plugged the 2 male connections into both line level/LFE RCA phono jacks on the back of the sub. HUGE difference, like night and day. I actually hear the bass loud and clear.

Still a newbie with all this so bear with me. Does a DAC machine really give you that much better sound? Can you hook it up to a CD player that already does the conversion? Will it make a so so CD player that much better? And, are there DACS out there with multiple inputs for different sources? I see the word CD transport out there as well. I'm guessing that this is just equipment to read the disc and not convert the digital to an audio signal. And why soo much money for just a transport? Sorry for all the questions. I'm kind of getting hooked on this audiophile stuff and am trying to learn all i can. Thanks,

Once I run my main speaker wires to the subs terminals then what? Do I make the connection to the main speakers by piggy backing over the top of the wires coming from the receiver?

Xki, I have the sub connectd to Sub 1(LFE) on a NAD T755 receiver, I'm assuming there is no other way to hook up the sub to the receiver. Maybe I am expecting the sub to perform for all my audio inputs when in fact it will only kick on when called to action by a certain signal from the audio source. So to take your example of the analog stereo, if I am listening to my tuner on analog stereo, no sub. But if i change the receiver setting to pro-logic or better while listening to the receiver I should get the sub to fire? Same for the CD player and my digital cable box? I put in the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" CD last week and the sub was firing, it was actually too overbearing that i had to turn it down.

Thanks. I have it set up and I'm not sure the actual Sub itself is working properly. Is there a place that I can plug the sub directly into to get audio out of it? Maybe the headphone jack? I turned the volume almost all the way up and played soe Bob Marley but it just didn't seem to do alot. The sub was moving and putting out bass but not a whole lot. Maybe I am expecting too much. I can actually put my ear to the sub when turned up pretty high and not feel as though I'm going to lose my hearing.

Ok. Thanks. Now is there any neutral position for me to set the controls to on the sub as a starting point? What does phase do?

I have a KSW-10 sub hooked up to a NAD T755 receiver and I have no idea if it's set up properly. The receiver doesn't have speaker posts for speaker wire but it does have Sub 1 and Sub 2 connections. I have an RCA subwoofer cable to connect the 2 together. Now what? The sub has the following controls: Line In, Low Pass Crossover, Level, Phase 0/180 and Power Off/Auto/On. Is there an ideal setting or starting point for these controls? I have RF-3 Fronts, RS-3 Surrounds and an RC-3 center. Any help would be great.

I do also listen to 2 channel music, i am assuming the seperate Outlaw set up, or any decent seperate set up, would make the music that much better. Is that right?

Thanks for the input, do you think you could've gotten away with the Model 7075 or 7125 instead of the 200 watt 7500? Is there more flexability with having more watts than needed?

I will definately return and give you guys my novice opinion when I get all my gear, it might take a little time but I think I know what i want now which is more than 1/2 the battle.
