Just noticed my C3 / F3s have 5 red / black speaker wire connectors. what are these for?

we can rearrange but it looks really odd. =( I could put the sub in the noock right now but in the next 8 weeks we will be getting an entertainment system built in and I don't think the sub would sound right incased in that. I'd also imagine th vigration noise would suck too from all the paneling / doors.

Ok so I read the instructions on the F3s and they suggest to be 24 inches from back and side walls. Does this impact sound that much If I'm not? I've got everything in an entertainment nook that is about 9 feet wide and about 2 feet deep so between the TV and towers theres only about 6" all the way around. I also noticed that in the setup diagram they provided they have the sub woofers in the front corner of the wall behind the tv. However I only have room to have it back against the way behind the seating area. Will that drastically alter the sound?

wait, so what causes the monster cables to turn green? what makes them a lower grade wire? So is 14 gauage better then 18? Woudl that mean 12 is better then 14 and would sound better?

I ended up tracking downa pair from craiglist. Good condition but the cover has a couple tears and some white paint on them from being mounted in a corner up againts the ceiling.

s3's i found on craigslist. only place i was able to find them.

the center channel is 3 feet, left/right front channels about 6 feet, sub woofer and surround speakers run up inside the wall over the top of the ceiling and then down the other side of the wall so about 30 feet each.

I FINALLY completed my F3, C3, S3 system so wen tto BB to buy some speakers. But they ranged from 15-120 for the same length. does it really matter or make a difference? what do I want to look for feature wise?

ok so I just found out the dude also has a used pair of s3s so I could get the s3s or the f3s for less then what retail s3s would have caused. Someone just tell me what to do!

I can't find s3s anywhere but someone said they would sell me both their f3s for less then MSP on s3s. So my setup would be C3, f3 front, f3 side, sub 12. would that sound alright or is it better to stick with side/surround speakers?

oh ive been able to find an abundace of s2s and s1s but really want to complete the f3 se. right now im looking at buying used s3s anyway so I would imagine im sol on the warrenty either way. so aside from not being authorized what else makes them shady?

forgive my ignorance but I dont know what buying from an authorized dealer vs a non authorized dealer means. Are they selling fake product or something?

So I can't find s3s new or used anywhere. whats a good alternitive

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo! Just read this, went to buy the refurbished ones from vans and they just solder their last 2. =( I've got the F3s, C3, SUB12 and the S3's is all that I am missing. Anyone got hookup?

they only have refurbished. =( so has synergy been discontinued? what will be the succesor?

since I plan on paying it off before 3 years and at least make the minimum payments I should be fine. =) but this is getting off topic and I beleive I have my answers. Thanks everyone!

I'm having a heck of a time finding all of the synergy speakers all at the same place. Has the line been discontinued? In particular I can not find the S3 anywhere online or in store. =(

CC and BB are offering 3 years no intrest and with the rate the greenback is depreciating you really can't beat that. It really is no different then me saving the money and holding off on the purchase then be buying it now. The only difference is that I help the econmy and i get to beef up my credit. =)

well I kind of goofed. I'm only going to buy from BB or CC because they have no interest specials going on and i didn't realize that they don't sell the reference. So now my decesion is between the F3 and VF 36 but no clue how they compare as I can't listen to them at my store (they dont have them setup)

ok wow yeah it does get pricey and i just noticed BB or CC doesn't carry anything higher then synergy or icon. so betweent the F3 and the VF-36 is there a clear winner?

Thanks James! Ok so keep in mind I'm a n00b, but what center channel would go well witht he RF-82. The c3 I was going to get with the F3 seems to be better then then the RC52. would the RC62 be more comparable. (on paper it looks that way but i have no clue what i am really looking at lol Also what is better: the RF82 or RF83 for floor speakers?

Ive been looking at surround systems for about the same price that feature either the F3's the VF-36 and the RF-82 side speakers. It *seems* like I can build a system featuring any of those speakers and comparable center, side and sub speakers for around the same price but not sure if there is much appreciable difference. Now I am not an audio person at all but on my $500 surrond sound system in a box I cant stand the lousy center speaker where it sounds like everyone is trapped in a small metalic box coved in blankets. We'll be watching a lot of blue ray movies and playing games with music a distant 3rd. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice? Thanks!
