Found the problem... One of the lead speaker wires is dead...posted another picture.. Anyone know where I can find same gauge wire and terminal connectors ?

I have an old pair of Heresey from the late 70's, early 80's and One of the speakers is dead. I tried another pairr of speakers and I get a stereo sound which indicates the received is working as it should. How can I diagnose the problem ? Thanks

Point well taken... At the end of the day you could have the best amp/speaker combo... in order to achive great sound you must use a good source. i just played a cd which sounded horible after which I played the same tracks from Vinyl - what a difference...

Very interesting - I will investigate further on the Cayins - It appears is made in China as the Jolidas... Oh well ....

I am not sure which route to go myself. The Mac which I borrowed from my friend brought my kg 4s to live .. It was solid state - the 2105 I think. From all the people I spokek with they seem to think the Jolida would be a good entry level tube amp. Some other people recommended that I try the mc 1500 which is an all tube receiver. I did read some reviews on Ayon which seem to be produce class A tube amps. The prices are a bit 2 rich forme at this point. I will shop around and see where I can get the best bang for my buck. I would not hesiate to go he MAC route if I can get a good deal. Cheers

Hi Bill, Thanks for the response. I borrowed my friends MAC amp about an hour ago and the speakers came to live... Amazing..... Had no idea 2 way speakers sound so good... ( I still love my Heresys !

I am itching to get a new amp. I heard Jolida has some decent stuff. For about the same price I can get an older Mac. Thoughts ?

Hi, I just purchased a pair of KG4's from an ad on Craiglist. The are in pristine condition - almost too pristine... How do I find the authenticity of the speakers? I see the serial numbers on the back. For some reason, my Heresy ( purchased them from a dealer ) seem sound "better" - a much crisper sound. Thanks for your help.
