  1. Wuzzer thanks for your help. That was the key and now my HT is off the charts with audio(for me at least). You are the man....
  2. Hello, I just connected my blu-ray with the multiple out rca channels (instead of the digital optical) into my receiver , so that I can listen to the blu-rays with lossless sound(True-HD. The problem I am having is how do i connect my sub? If I go sub out on the bluray to the input on the sub, then the sub only works with blu-rays. If I use the LFE on the recever into the sub then no sub sound on blu-ray on the multiple channel input. My only alternative is out of blu-ray into the sub, out of sub into the receiver. Will this work? Ultimately I would like to be able to listen to the sub in all applications. Music,Movies and TV etc..Please help.....
  3. Kyle Sorry to hear of your frustrations. I was under the same impression that all HDMI formats carry a video and audio signal with one cable, however this is not the case. There is actually 3 different types of HDMI. 1. HDMI "pass through".This allows the receiver to accept HD video via HDMI, but requires a separate audio connection. ie. digital optical. 2. HDMI "audio support". This allows the receiver to accept both Video and Audio via single HDMI cable. Usually found on receivers with advanced surround sound capabilities. 3. HDMI "upconversion". Same as the audio support with the advantage of having all your analog connections (s-video, component, rca) to be "upconverted" to HDMI. Sounds as if your older receiver is HDMI pass through. So your best bet is to run HDMI out of your PS3 into your TV for video and run a digital fiber optic cable out of the PS3 into your receiver for your audio. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  4. I finally got my SUB-12 in today. Did a test run with Transformers and Mummy III, and was pretty impressed with the sound quality. The wife definitely noticed a difference when she first heard it. Thats a plus because she normally just doesn't even pay attention. I must say I was dissapointed in the build quality. What happen to the quality control? My older Klipsch products came with two separate signatures. One of the person who tested and another of the person who inspected. Thanks for the older post. I'm gonna try to find a countertop company who will sell me a piece of granite or marble. This is a great idea.
  5. Are you running the RW10 with the SUB 12? As soon as my SUB 12 comes in tommorow, I will have the SW10 as well, and was considering running both of them. Do you think this is a good idea?
  6. one step ahead of me, you answered my next question about the primer and paint. Real quick do you think the flat black will rub off on the carpet over time. I like the way it matches the sub, however I was considering matching the carpet. What do you know my carpet is the same color as yours.
  7. The MDF looks great! Just curious Is that 3/4" or 1' thick. I have carpet as well and was glad to hear you had improved results by adding this board. My SUB- 12 is being delivered on Monday and want to do the same. Thanks.
  8. CP1, I'm sorry I should have explained my situation better. My HT is made up of KG 3.2 fronts, KG 2.2 center, and 8"subs in the ceiling, and SW-10 sub. Ijust ordered a SUB-12 and C-2 to replace the existing pieces respectively. I'm okay with the sub choice, but i'm not too sure about the C-2 purchase to replace the KG 2.2.Are they pretty much the same sound quality? Eventually I want to get the RF-83's to replace the KG 3.2's. Or keep the KG3.2's and get the WS-24 for my second set of mains. I'm So confused... everytime i think I know what I want things change. Please gie me some direction. Thanks

    recievers?

Onkyo is alright for sound, but I heard from several sources that the upconversion feature on these receivers are not up to par with say Denon. Last I checked, the Denon 2808ci is on sale at BB for $599.99 on sale from $999.99. This is an outstanding deal.
  10. CP1 What are your thoughts about the KG 2.2 compared to the C-2. I currently own the KG 2.2 and just ordered the C-2. Will I notice a difference in the sound quaility, if not any suggestions? I'm not familiar with the tractrix horn technology. Thanks.
  11. I just placed my order for the SUB-12 with Acoustic Sound Design for $399.99 out the door. I appreciate all the responses, really helped me in my decision. P.S. CECCAA850- That sub brought back memories of the Bazooka tube I had in the back of my golf GTI cruisin the strip when I was a teenager. Those were the days. The Klipsch brand has been really good to me over the years, so I am fully committed to their success.
  12. Man, now I'm on the fence.Tommyboy you really got me going back and forth. I can appreciate your opinion since you own both. On one hand I like the IR feature, on the other hand I know me. Me like BASS. Will anyone else help me with this decision? Any other thoughts or Opinions?
  13. Rich_guy Do you know if theURC MX-850 is compatible with a Yamaha Rx-v 3800 receiver. That is something I definitley would like to do with the IR function. Thanks
  14. The media room this is going in is carpeted, with the SUB-12 it was my understanding this was a down firing sub and the sound would get muffled. Am i correct in this assumption. I certainly wouln't mind spending the extra $50.00 to $100.00 if it was going to make a signifigant difference in the overall sound quality/product. thanks
  15. Hello, I'm new to the forum and in the market for a new SW, however its been a while since I made my last purchase. SW-10 (circa 1993) From what I've been reading these are the two that I have narrowed it down to fit my budget. The Best Buy, Circuit City's etc in my area have the SUB- 10,but not the RW-10d.So I have no idea what the RW-10d sounds like. I an leaning to the RW-10d for the IR feature which allows the user to change the settings for movies and music. BTW Acoustic Designs have the RW-10d NIB for $419.00 shipped. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advanced.
