  1. I have an Audio Note P1 (similar to the OTO, but with only 1 input). Hugely satisfied with it! Copland and Klipsch is a much used combo here in Norway.
  2. In the 1000-2000 i would defintely check out the two following: Copland 405 Audio Note OTO
  3. .. and Heresy it was. I got a lot of great offers from persons on this forum (much greater than eBay-listings). Some pictures:
  4. Well, i guess there is no other place like this. I amazed by the level of knowledge and passion on this Forum.
  5. I've realized the same. 9/10 says Heresy, both here on the forum and other places. I've now put up an want to buy-ad in the Garage Sale forum. Best, Heresy-owner-to-be
  6. Do your remember the shipping-cost? Jetcarrier will do sea-shipping for 150$ from NJ, but it'll take a few weeks. Heard lots of great things about them on my Norwegian HIFI-forum.
  7. Yes, a bump in quality. Everything runs lossles from the mac, via Firewire to the soundcard (the internal soundcard is bypassed). Then XLR to RCA into the poweramp, which has a volume-control. Kind of a one-input integrated. The power amplifer is a Audio Note P1 PP, which i imported from Hong Kong. The P1 is a 12w push-pull Class A stereo amplifier with 4 x EL84 and 4 x ECC83
  8. Yeah, i think so too! Thanks for the headsup on the KG-4 woofers! I've posted a WTB here on the forums - http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/117404/1183792.aspx#1183792 OT: Here are my tubes - My god they play beautiful! Can't wait to get some Heritage home. The groovy box is an Apogee Duet. I'm going to have things room-corrected and with tons of tweaking possibilities from the Mac, but with an vintage sound. More on that later
  9. Yeah, maybe i'll hold my horses. All near-mint Heresys is around 5-600$ on eBay.
  10. Nothing wrong with the RF52 at all! But i'm heading in direction of vintage. Tubes-and-vinyl-style! And life is far to short to NOT try the things i want to try The bass in the KG is tempting, but its not Heritage is it? I think that I might feel that the KG is a bit in between. Also 9 of 10 times, browsing this forum and reading threads like mine, i see Heresy over KG.
  11. I wish i could audition both pairs. But, I'll have to choose one of them. I'm going to use Jetcarrier for shipment (Norwegian company), as they will ship from USA to Norway by sea for less than 150$. UPS gave an estimate - 550$. This is kind of an experiment, as vintage Klipsch are really hard to come by here in Norway, and is really expencive. I paid 888$ for my new RF-52s.
  12. I guess you've got the Pre by now? How do you like it? I have the M-Zero remote, and I like it. Tough, I have a Audio Note P1 power-amp with a volume-knob. Lately I've been playing music with a DAC connected directly to the P1 and the sound is much richer. I find the M-Zero to be a bit 'thin'. A bit dissapointing, as both amps are Audio Note (synergy effect? ). I'm now looking into a combined soundcard, preamp and DAC, the Apogee Duet, to use instead of the M-Zero. And yes, there is two Audio Note divisions. UK and Japan, also known as Kondo. Japan is mostly very exclucive stuff. Actually, there is 3 divisions - AudioNote kits as well.
  13. Heresy (-damage) Otherwise great shape. KG-4 I've found alot of spare parts for the Heresy on eBay (enough to make them as good as new - soundwise), and I've got a friend that is able to repair cabinet-damage like shown. How is the selection of spare parts for the KG-4? Woofers, crossovers, tweeters etc?
  14. Oh yes, one of the pairs will replace the 52's. I've already got a buyer both on the 52's OR the import, depending on what i like the most. Call it a 'stunt'
  15. Hello! I'm a Klipsch fan from Norway and I'm currently on the edge of arranging a shipment of a pair of vintage Klipsch. I've found two candidates: 1980 Heresy - Great condition, but with a small chip and and a stain. 1985 KG-4 - Perfect condition. Original box, looks amazing. Price is the same for both pairs. What to choose? Because of the very limited selection of old Klipsch in Oslo I am going to buy these 'unheard'. Yep, thats right. Here is a plan of the appartment in which one of the two pairs will live a happy life. Because of the limited space I'm not going to buy a sub. I had a REL sub earlier which was impossible to set up 100%. 2 way is the only way And here is a summary of todays setup. I have 52's. My music taste is varied. You might want to take a look at my last.fm. Best regards, Brasse (1st post)
