  1. Hey Klipsch! Love the stuff you guys make. With all of the new designs of headphones coming out recently, including the update to the hugely popular Image S4 model, I was just wondering if there were any current plans in place that you could discuss regarding an update to the oldest Image model, the X10. The x10's sound great and everything, but it seems like all of the lower end models are getting things like upgraded cables, while the flagship is still using that thin, flimsy cord. (I just want to put this out there... I think you guys need to re-introduce the Custom line you made several years ago (custom 1,2,3.) Aside from the cloth cable, those things were great.
  2. i get headaches when listening too loud (to any earphones). By any chance do you play your music a little on the loud side? The S4's have a much stronger treble presence than many lower-end earphones, so listening to them at a loud volume would definitely cause listening fatigue.
  3. I'll backup your blabbering. I've tried high-end earphones from all the well-known (and many more expensive) manufactures, including the $500 msrp Shure se530s, and Ultimate Ears triple-fi's, and Klipsch is the only company to consistently impress me w/ the sound quality of their products. Whereas the iems from the likes of Shure sound pretty poor on any models below the super-expensive se530's, Klipsch seems to engineer fantastic SQ in even their lower-priced (S4) earphones. I own every Klipsch earphone model except the image S2's, and each one sounds awesome in its own unique way. I'm currently spending most of my time w/ my new image x5's shoved in my head (with a big smile on my face) but there are times I when I can be seen enjoying the 80 buck S4's just as much as my X10's and Custom 3's. On top of that, I really respect the fact that Klipsch employees like Thump & Amy actually take time to have conversations w/ customers via forums like this one, and Head-fi.org. Just take this site for example. Klipsch could easily delete some of the product-criticisms posted on their forum, but it doesnt seem like they do so. Many times, we'll get responses from actual employees directly related to criticisms, which amazes me. Keep up the good work guys. You've earned a customer for life.
  4. if I'm not mistaken, didn't you also post this question in the head-fi forum? I guess I'm just having trouble understanding what you mean by saying they're too loud at "minimum level." Wouldnt minimum level be silence? If they're "too loud" as you say, turn the volume down I guess? I just dont understand what you mean by "too loud." Is it possible you're referring to a feeling of too much treble? The S4's are definitely a bright set of earphones, that can be a bit of a shocker when moving to them from something that typically rolls off treble. My suggestion is just to stick w/ them & allow the drivers, your brain, or whatever works to burn in & get used to them. Once you get used to the sound, the S4's are amazing for the price; easily the best pair of dynamic-driver iem's I've heard south of 200 bones.
  5. You're working on stuff?! Are you trying to kill my wallet? I'm seriously addicted to Klipsch headphones, and have purchased every single model you offer (except the X5's). I don't know how much more my wallet can take in terms of new models [:'(] That being said, I would be thrilled to see at least some of the design aspect (ie native over-ear design) of the now fallen custom line implemented in a future model. It's a shame so many had fit issues w/ the customs. They're one of my favorite designs out there.
  6. Come on man, that really isn't a fair statement. I agree there have been problems w/ the cabling on this specific model, but I don't believe the company has ever been unwilling to help out a customer that faced the problem. Companies discontinue models all the time. It doesn't mean they're trying to screw you.
  7. That's a shame. W/ the exception of the cable drama, I've always had a spot in my heart for the Customs (I've purchased all three and they were one of the first respectable iem's I had. They definitely have one of my favorite designs. As a side note, has anyone ever established if some kind of cable manufacturing change took place over the lifespan of the custom line? I recently picked up a pair of Custom 3's at an authorized dealer, and suprisingly, it has a very nice, soft cloth cable, free of kinks, and nowhere near as stiff & tangle prone as the previous Custom models I've purchased. Seriously, I have 2 pairs sitting here side by side, and the cables feel nothing alike. My custom 2's cable is extremely stiff, hard to bend & full of kinks, while these Custom 3's seem to have a fabulous cable.
  8. it just seemed like the bass on the c3's was more dominant than on the c2's, which I preferred. I just wondered if this was a normal trait between the 2 & what the technical differences were between both, since they both have dual armatures. thanks.
  9. Hey guys. Just a quick question about the above 2 iem's. I've recently been on a quest to try just about every make & model of earphones, including offerings from shure, ultimate ears, etymotic, phonak, etc.... and the Custom line definately has my favorite sound signature. I've tried all 3 models (custom 1, 2 & 3). That being said, is it strange that my favorite of the three is the custom 2's? They all sounded good, but I actually enjoyed the sound of the 2's over the 3's. Is it possible that the custom 3's I auditioned were defective? They sounded good, but I just felt that the custom 2's had a more balanced response. Could someone explain what the actual differences between the custom 2's & 3's? I've been told they both have dual armature setups, so I'm a bit confused as to what makes the custom 3's "better," especially since I tended to prefer the 2's. Thanks for the help! Jeremy (recently converted Klipsch fanboy [ )
