  1. Thanks for all your help everyone. Looks like I'm going to make the upgrade as soon as I can sell my RS-42s and rc-10.
  2. I have an Onkyo 806 receiver which outputs 125W per channel. If I get a RC-62 (150W RMS) could i power it with the 806? I've read elsewhere the Klipsch speakers are really efficient but don;t know what that means exactly.
  3. cool... thanks everyone for the advice. Based on your comments i was able to do a little more research and I think I'm going to stick with how my receiver set them up (with Audyssey i think).
  4. two RF-25s, one RC-10, two RS-42s, and a sub, onkyo 806 receiver.
  5. I have a system composed of different Reference series speakers and I was wondering if they are THX certified. If so.... should i set the crossover (on the receiver) for each set of speakers to 80Hz?
  6. so I took your advice and switched the tweeters out and... the same speaker did not work! So I guess that means it's not the tweeter after all. What are some other things I should check and I how do I get to them... (like the crossover)? I'm currently awaiting a response from Klipsch... I'm really hoping they'll just replace the speaker.
  7. Thanks for the advice... I'll leave them where they are.
  8. yeah... I've noticed that that is the recommended configuration, but all of the diagrams show a room where there is space between the listening area and the surround speakers. In my case, (with the couches right up against the walls), the speakers are directly above some of the listener's heads, (and a few feet back). I don't see how the sound will not just go right over the head of the listener... unless these surround speakers spread out the sound better than I'm guessing?
  9. My theater area is an 11 x 35ft room. I have a couch and a love seat that sit flush against opposite walls. I have a 7.1 system. As of now the right/left surround speakers sit flush on each wall 3 feet back from the couches. The rear surround speakers are mounted to the ceiling and angled slightly downward. Should I do the same with left/right surround... or leave them flush? I know trial and error is best, but I'd like to avoid buying two more ceiling mounts if I don't need them. here's a crappy diagram of my setup: http://www.leaveitdifficult.com/klipschSetup.jpg Thanks in advance
  10. Thanks for the advice... I'm going to take down the whole setup until I get the new tweeter installed and an HDMI cable long enough to reach my projector. I have watched two movies at -30 to -25dB and the sound was good. Hope I didn't degrade the quality of my system. The good news is that after 15 years in punk rock bands my ears are dead to a wide array of frequencies and I probably won't notice a drop in quality anyways. Thanks for all your help. oh... yeah... one more question. if there was damage caused by an imbalanced load would it be to the receiver/amp or to the other speakers?
  11. the woofers are working fine so would it be better to leave it hooked up or disconnect it entirely?
  12. I have an RF-25 with a bad tweeter... the woofers work but not the tweeter. I've got the new tweeter on backorder but in the meantime I'd like to use my system. Will using the system with the bum speaker hurt my woofers, other speakers, or receiver?
  13. I know this post is a year old, but I'm having the same problem except that my front right RF-25 is really muffled. It sounds like the tweeter is not working at all. Dave... did you ever find a solution?
