  1. let me ask you guys this... and one with a marants... what do you have your center channel set to in the graphic eq? this would give me a general idea to start with.
  2. welll my center channel got really low. audessey loves to make my center and fronts "large", so i manually change them back to small. it sounds good but i ahve to turn it up to hear vocal audio, then when heavy action takes place my whole room shakes cause the volume is so high. any ideas? when im doing the audessey setup, it doesnt let me change the cross over frequencies... everything says "auto" when i do a results check. im puzzelled or is that how its suposed to sound
  3. this is GOLD!! i feel like such a dummy for not looking at this before
  4. i got the hkts-18 sub from my old setup, but its about beat to death from this marantz. the amplifier gets real hot and the sub constantly shuts off. i got a rw12-d on the way
  5. i figured it out yall. Audessey was my problem why i wasnt getting loud enough with the rf-82's... it was in my settings. the problem was that audessey had them set to "large"... therefore they were taking too much of the low frequecies which was making them max out in loudness way early because of the bass... and now that i have them set to small, they get plenty loud before my ears start hurting.

  7. Which one of these speakers would make for a better surround back speaker on the 8002 pushing 125 watts per channel http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/rsx-5-overview/ http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/rs-3-ii-specifications/default.aspx

gentlemen, ive been doing some research, and in most threads ive read about this topic about bi-wiring, it always starts a flame war. lots of people swear they hear a difference and lots of people say they hear no difference. also, lots of people say it will harm your amp if you use A&B to biwire and that it will change the impedence level and others argue that it wont and its safe and an alternative way of doing it. marantz operational technical support is telling me to unequivically use channels A and B for bi-wire and channels A and C for bi amping. both arguments seem credible but this is what ive noticed. i notice no difference when i splice the cables and use only the A channel vs using A&B inputs, but when i plug the speakers in without biwiring them, i hear a flatter tone. not as crisp or precise. but when it is biwired, my tweeters come alive and make love to my ears. the word i can make up to describe it is ambiatic. the highs especially get an adrenaline boost and they sound magical. the bass is distortion free and smooth. it wasnt distorted in the first place but you can tell that its a very clear and very smooth difference. the biggest difference though like i said is the highs. they just jump right out at me like never before. has anyone else noticed this besides rich guy?
  9. yea that is an option... and may be what i have to do in the long run.... but you know what. its probably gona sound trashy as its been said, but with a return policy like this http://emotiva.com/shop/cart.php?m=content&page=1, i might just have to atleast give it a sound check. i have to have the 83's up front. So i gota buy em, and if the 82's sound like trash, ill sell em... but i lose nothing but shipping costs in giving it a try. im starting to like emotiva. ill probably end up telling you that it didnt out but i gota keep hope alive

im going to splice them on terminal A, and see if i notice a difference in sound.
  11. Sound distributers will sell them NIB at bstock prices.
  12. All this blue ray talk is depressing me. My pioneer bd51fd broke after a firmware update and I gota mail it to california... and now that my klipsch speakers are in, I can't put em to the test
  13. You are right. Something seems a mis because this should be loud enough but its not which is why I was considering putting the 83s on the xpa-2 to ensure I go deaf. I just didn't want to sell those 82s if I could hook em up.
  14. the 82's arnt loud enough at present. They get loud but just not loud enough. I didn't want to get rid of the. I wanted to incorperate them in my setup some how when the 83s get in
  15. Well I was in love with the 83's at first sight. So in the end, I may wind up selling the 82s. What causes the canceling? Is it no just an unpowered pre amp signal that's being sent to the xpa-2?
  16. Not that I want to contradict what the guys are saying at Marantz but, most of the members here are well versed in hometheater and speak from (and I'm sure of this) years of experience. We are all trying to make sure that you have the best experience with Klipsch. Ultimately it is your money and your speakers but, IMO don't you want it to sound good? yes sir! yes sir i do very much...

colin thats over my head. [^o)] [*-)]
  18. I could not possibly agree with you more wuzzzer. Running four front channels is NOT the best idea. You will run in to all kind's of problems. Cancellation being the BIG one. Your receiver with just one pair of RF-83's will be absolutely mind blowing! i hear what u guys are saying, but those tech guys from Marantz seemed absolutely positive about the bi-wiring, and one of the guys even said thats how he had his marantz set up. so im definate going to call and get it straight. and what makes me feel confident right now is the difference i hear. its like you guys are saying one thing and the tech guys and my ears are saying another

well that sounds strange. i made 3 calls with questions and talked to two differnet tech guys and they both said A&B for bi wiring and that speakers C inputs were reserved for bi amping, not biwiring. im definately calling them tomarrow to confirm whats going on. but i tell you what, my stuff sounds better! clean like, really smooth

okay they must have told me wrong over the phone. ill look at it and see whats upwell i just called them and they are closed... ill have to ask them tomarrow about what page 38 says. but i made several calls to their tech support and more than one technician told me to use channel A and B on the phone they told me using speaker C was for double the power, using A&B was for bi wire all im certain of at this point is these speakers sound very clean and crisp... very detailed. a big difference

i hear it... i know im not crazy... i hear a delicious difference. "delicious"... its like my highs are on steriods and my woofers are so much smoothers. its incredible
  22. i called marants before i did it, and thats what they told me to do. i told them about splicing and they said dont do it that way. they designed their biwire for channels a&b and designed their bi ampings for using of the multispeaker inputs. i chose to biwire instead of bi amping because i wanted the 7.1 setup and i would constantly have to mess with settings if i chose to bi amp if i wanted to keep 7.1

wow... i just got done bi wiring... and yes i notice a difference. there is more definition in the audio and it sounds "cleaner". i hear a noticable difference when listening to music wow wow wow..... really noticable, wow wow wow.... sounds good!!!!!! this is amazing i have the highs on channel A and the woofers on channel B the highs are really noticable, they sound more ...... "precise"... man i cant explain it, the sound is really different, and nice.... very clean, or "cleaner". the highs have much more detail... man this is gettin crazier by the second. this is nice. im excited [] im in bi wire heaven with these elegant highs
